  • Hooked on Books: Beach Reads

by kgrusso Written Apr 26, 2007

Small local village shop that specializes in Florida books for adults, youth and children. There aren't many rainy days but when you have one you need something to do. You can get playing cards, jigsaw puzzles, books, both new and used.

What to buy: Pirates--the greatest selection of pirate infomation and the greatest selection of used books--great for beach reads because they are only half price, so you can just leave them when you're done!

Treasure Village: A courtyard style mini shopping mall

Niki in one of the shops

When you drive the US 1 you almost can't miss the signs or the 35 foot lobster. When we passed it by we could use some stretching and decided to stop..

You can enter the center garden of this historic castle through the shops or by walking the boardwalk surrounding the garden.

The shops offcourse have the usual gifts but also the more special things. You can eat and drink on the boardwalk our just walk around the garden and look at the birds or the woodwork.

What to buy: There are just over 10 shops here, they sell art, souvenirs, pottery candles, a bakery where you can enjoy a cup of coffee and a bit to eat.

What to pay: Prices are reasonable compared to Key West, so if you are going to Key West you could decide to buy it here it might save you some dollars.
