I liked their food and came here a couple of times. This is a cafeteria style diner so you go to the buffet bar and serve yourself.
I loved their red velvet cake, most of their desserts, macaroni and cheese, corn bread, sweet tea and etc. I just don't remember the rest right now. Square 1/ a.k.a Pom's Thai bistro is tons of fun. Trendy bar with lounging couches and overstuffed chairs make for a great nightlife experience. Live music @ night and a dance floor. Huge bar with $2 appletini's and cosmos on Thursdays. Go upstairs and enjoy the Thai bistro cuisine...pretty pricey meals but would be a great date environment or for a special occasion.

I visited the Ponte Vedra Beach Ruths Chris Steakhouse on a business trip and was thoroughly satisfied. Steaks served on a sizzling plate and outstanding service make this a unique dining experience.
The Filet is outstanding as are the grilled Asparagus. We also had shredded fried onions. The Martini's are outstanding and have a variety of stuffed olives to choose from. The Port Wine selected is better than average although not as good as one would expect from an establishment like this. Located right next door to the St. Johns River Ferry landing on Ft. George Island, the Sandollar is a great addition to Jacksonville's dining scene. Boasting giant picture windows, patrons enjoy views of the river that include the shrimpboats and casino boats docked across the water at Mayport Village, the ferry itself as it makes its regularly scheduled crossings, and the occassional towering ship making its way to/from the port. I have also seen dolphins playing in the river from my table and if you look carefully you can also spy the historic Mayport lighthouse. Inside, the decor includes aquariums and bubble lamps accented by nautical touches and the atmosphere works for everything from a romantic dinner to a family outing.
While I personally am not a seafood lover I can say they have great chicken sandwiches and other landlubber offerings. Leave a Comment Theme: SeafoodPrice: US$11-20 » Currency ConverterComparison: about averageAddress: Fort George IslandDirections: Neighborhood: Ft. George Island

The food is some of the best I've ever had. I go there for the food- everything else is secondary, even though everything else about the place is excellent, too. I have been to every Japanese restaurant in Jacksonville, from large to small, and this one has the freshest, most exotic food by far. The interior is high class- novel without being trendy, with a few black lights strategically placed with reactive wallpaper; the architecture is very unique and expensive looking. There is usually jazz playing in the background, at a nice volume. The staff seems very friendly.
My favorite dish is the "chef's choice," where you allow the chef to create a dish of his choice. I told the staff I was vegetarian, and he created a unique meal especially for me, and I have never tasted anything so wonderful. It was so good that I refused to put shrimp sauce on it, because it would overpower the already perfect meal. Try some fresh brew @ 7 bridges and grab a mean meal as well. Features live music on weekend nights and a wide variety of food to satisfy all palates. Burgers, chicken, tuna, meatloaf, pizza, pasta to name a few. They have a full bar. Servers and bar dudes are spot on.

This used to be one of the best restaurants in JAX, but I'm afraid it's far from wonderful now. Overpriced and barely above average in terms of quality, the owner should probably rethink the whole operation. The location in Avondale is great and the the space itself is attractive, but both deserve a restaurant that isn't coasting on its past reputation. If you're in the mood for a high-end dining experience, you're far better off at Matthew's or Daniel's in San Marco, or at Ruth Chris on the waterfront. Shorts and flip-flops welcome. There are many good seafood restaurants in the area, but Singleton's is my all-time favorite. Nestled in the midst of the shrimp boat docks, along the shore of the St. Johns River, it is not a fancy place, but you will feel warmly welcomed by the locals who serve up the freshest and finest seafood selection you can imagine. You will be welcomed just outside the door by resident ducks, pelicans and a few mousers (cats that chase the dock mice away), but be not afraid. Once you are inside you will see why you need not dress up for dinner - folks who come here know that they need comfortable clothes, for the tastebuds will continue to cry for more when the belly begins to say "I can't hold anymore".
Seafood platter - a great sampling of everything.
