  • Barbara Jean's: Best Crabcakes this side of Baltimore!

    by maltman3334 Written Jun 5, 2007

Known for it's casual family style atmosphere, Barbara Jean's is always good, always dependable and has a great view (when the boats are running) of the Intracoastal. Don't dress up - it's definitely low-key. The crabcakes are some of the best I've ever had and the she-crab soup is amazing (with a kick!). Landlubbers love the comfort food - fried fish. pot roast, and meatloaf. Small but adequate wine list and the kids can howl and no one will notice - they've also got their own menu at a good price for the quantity. Ask your hotel concierge for directions - it's back a few miles off A1A and the chic part of Ponte Vedra, but worth the drive.

Favorite Dish: Crab cakes, crab cakes, crab cakes - did I mention the crab cakes?

Barbara Jean's: Barbara Jean's - Great Seafood and Ambiance

by MatthewMetcalfe Written Jun 22, 2004

Barbara Jeans has a couple of restaurants in the South Georgia/North Florida Area. This one is situated on the Intracoastal and offers a relaxed enviroment and great seafood.

Favorite Dish: The She Crab Soup is awesome and they will ship it to you from their online store if you like.

Their Chicken Fingers sampler is excellent as well. The Pecan Crusted Chicken Fingers are unique.

Also try their Crab Cakes while you are there. The emphasis is on the crab, not the fillers!
