I had the typical seafood combo platters of fried shrimp, calamari and fish. The catch of the day was flounder for $8 and a lot of fries. The place was started in 1969 to serve shrimp boat group that docked around there. A lot are now gone with the shrimp also gone, but the remainder bring catches to here to serve daily fresh. The place is well know by locals, but not many tourists.
All meals are served on styrofoam plates and plastic eat ware. The prices are a bit on the high side, but beer reasonable. See the model boats in the rear area. They are fantastic and took a great deal of time and skill to carve.

Favorite Dish: The clam chowder was very thick, like a long simmered stew, and loaded with clams. The flounder was a close second is favorite, though.

The Best Place for Local Seafood: Singleton's

Shorts and flip-flops welcome. There are many good seafood restaurants in the area, but Singleton's is my all-time favorite. Nestled in the midst of the shrimp boat docks, along the shore of the St. Johns River, it is not a fancy place, but you will feel warmly welcomed by the locals who serve up the freshest and finest seafood selection you can imagine. You will be welcomed just outside the door by resident ducks, pelicans and a few mousers (cats that chase the dock mice away), but be not afraid. Once you are inside you will see why you need not dress up for dinner - folks who come here know that they need comfortable clothes, for the tastebuds will continue to cry for more when the belly begins to say "I can't hold anymore".

Favorite Dish: Seafood platter - a great sampling of everything.
