Serving as the U.S. 15K championship, the Gate River Run attracts thousands of runners from around the world. Beginning near the sports complex, runners traverse downtown streets before crossing the Main Street Bridge to the Southbank. From there, they race down various streets in the historic San Marco neighborhood before making their approach toward the "Green Monster," better known to the rest of us as the Hart Bridge. The bridge is very high and poses a challenge even to experienced runners. After the bridge, runners finally reach the finish line where they started.
