Cruise/Sail, Key West
Fondest memory: I had been so reluctant to travel to Key West, because of the high gas prices and I have never been a fan of traffic! Well a friend recommended that I take the Key West Express departing from Ft. Myers! First of all, it was extremely reasonable priced since I was on a luxury charter boat! All the crew members were extremely accommodating, and they were extremely knowledgeable and were able to answer all of my Key West questions! It was so relaxing laying out by the pool while I was served delicious drinks and hors d'oeuvres! It was so nice not having to sit in the driver's seat and worrying about getting lost or not getting to Key West in time. I was able to just enjoy the trip! I would absolutely recommend this trip to anyone that is looking for an alternative to driving to Key West, or simply just wants to get there the best way possible! My friend directed me to this site www.gokeywestexpress.com, and after doing some research I was even more convinced that this was the best way to start my journey!
I loved to watch this ship sail every evening! There is no more beautiful tall ship in town!
The America is a $4 Million Dollar Replica of the most famous racing yacht in the world.
Private charters available.
Favorite thing: Speaking of the schooners.... this is the view of the bay as we pulled out of Key West on our way for home. I certainly enjoyed my time down there and I didn't have time to see it all. I hope that you will have time to enjoy the sunset ceremony they have every night on the western docks. :-)
Favorite thing: We tended to hang around the marina opposite the boat dock where the cruise ship pulled in. Nearly every boat in the marina is for hire. They had fishing guides, tour guides, general charters, and even chartered sunset schooner cruises. We also noticed an abundance of pelicans all over the place :-)
Favorite thing: There's boats everywhere, and you can hire them to take you anywhere you like - to the state park, snorkeling, fishing, or just to be out on the water.
Favorite thing: Take a trip out on one of the schooners - we chose Schooner America which gave us a thrilling (as it was so windy & rough) trip out at sunset.
