WAX.., Key West

No offense to anyone ever in a fraternity, but the quality of boy one finds in most bars in key west is sub par, what most relatively intelligent girls will refer disparingly to as the "frat boy." These are guys who sexually harrass, generally disrespect women, and do weird stuff like break things for no reason. To be clear, not all boys in fraternities are like this - I know a ton who are sweethearts - but the phrase "frat boy" just took on a life of its own.

So the long and short of it - there were few to no frat boys at Wax - it was awesome! There was a funky, eclectic group of people, better music, good dancing, fun, funky furniture with couches and pillows, a good flowing supply of alcohol, enough that I got drunk enough to chip my tooth that night - my best memory and remnant from Key West.

Dress Code: No hog's breath t shirts - maybe a little funkier than the average beach tourist.

Apple martinis at WAX. Of course, everything in Key West is casual, so dress casual, even though this place seems to be plucked right out of NYC. The walls are red, there's lava lamps, lounge benches, and little tables that light up. It is on one of the side streets right of off Duval Street. Walk around - you'll find it.
