Caroline's - Duvall St
Caroline's is a nice little restaurant, with mostly outdoor seating, overlooking the always interesting and entertaining Duval Street. We had been Kayaking since dawn, not to mention exploring the Hemingway House, so we were in need of a bit of food and drink. They had plenty of seating available, bur we were lucky to claim one of their prime tables right on Duval Street.
We relaxed here for an hour or two, sipping Yuenglings ($4 each) and mojitos ($8 each) until we were rested up. We also had their conch fritters appetizer ($8), along with the grilled shrimp lettuce wrap ($10), served with bean sprouts, carrots, rice noodles and cucumbers with Thai dipping sauces.
The food was good, the service excellent, the atmosphere very relaxing, and the views over Duval Street very entertaining. This is a great place for a laid back snack and drink in Key West. In fact, the customers seemed like quite a few locals, rather than the tourists you might find at neighboring establishments.
Caroline's Cafe: To watch pedestrians in Duval
The clients are sited few feet above the heads of the pedestrians who stroll Duval. A good observatory of the people who is passing by.
Favorite Dish: For a Quesadilla chicken and a Caroline Shrimp salad + rum Runner = 33$ tax and tip included
