Clothing, Key West
When you get into Key West off U.S. 1 you pass a lot of strip malls on the left hand side of the road. In these strip malls you'll find Big K-Mart.
I recommend stopping in because the stuff was cheap inside. I wanted a baseball hat, just a plain hat and they sold them in K-mart for $ 3.99. On Duval Street hats cost $10-28.
Clothing is also inexpensive and of good quality. After all it is a national chain.
What to buy: I didn't buy any "special items" but I did buy a 12 case of coors, and 2 bottles of wine.
What to pay: This K-Mart charges the same as any other K-Mart, so expect low prices.
Costume Sales & Rentals are the primary business here but the store is also a Consignment & Resale outlet for collectibles and such.
It's never too early to shop for Halloween or other costume events and you have a choice of buying real uniforms, suits, hats, clothing, etc or they have the every-day costumes you can find anywhere. Either way, it is your choice.
What to buy: If it has to do with a costume or a prop for a costume, you will probably find it here. If not, the very helpful and friendly staff will direct you to where you need to find it.
A wide variety of costumes, both real and replica and all the accessories you can think of can be found here.
What to pay: Low prices on used costumes, props and collectibles.
fast buck freddies tropical department store has an interesting collection of clothing, home furnishings, and gifts. in the gift and home furnishings department they offer unusual imports from all over the world. their clothing department specializes in casual florida keys type apparel. an interesting and fun place to shop on duval street.
I have not been here, but have heard it recommended.
What to buy: If you don't want to buy from the aggressive T-shirt vendors, I suggest going to this place and getting a custom shirt with whatever logo you like done for you
What to pay: About $15 each
If your luggage is lost or you find that you've lost so much weight that your swim suit no longer fits, you need not fear that you will have to swim in shorts and a T shirt. There are plenty of shops in Key West that sell swimwear.
I have not been to this shop, but I took the picture from the car as we came down Truman to Duval St.

Duval Street is KNOWN for its bars, bars, bars, tourist T-shirt shops, bars, restaurants, bars, and more bars. Leave it to my wife to find a real clothing store with a sale going on. The staff was friendly and helpful.
What to buy: Women's clothing of the non-tourist variety.
What to pay: Depends on the item, but shorts and good quality knit blouses were in the $30-$35 range.
