people, and prices. We wanted a conch shell, one that works. We checked prices on the drive to Key West and was surprised when we checked the prices here. We saved $4.00 just on the conch shell, over the prices in other places.
What to buy: all the tourist stuff. t-shirts, we came home with about 18 of them. from this shop and from bars and restaurants. shells, we came home with 3 of them. plus jewelry, post cards, hey what can I say. as my late husband said " spend the children inheritance if you don't they will fly first class"
What to pay: depends on what quality you want. they have $5.00 t-shirts and $25.00 t-shirts
Truly a unique shopping experience. The Shell Warehouse is an emporium of items that are found oceans far and near. You will find thousands of unusual, rare and interesting shells, jewelry, artwork and decorations that will surely remind you of your time here in Key West. Housed in Asa Tift's 1851 ice house, one of the first buildings in Key West, the Shell Warehouse is located next door to the Key West Chamber of Commerce. A Key West favorite since 1950!
I recomend bringing your own cameras, sun screen, sandals, and all other small but necessary goods. It'll cost you over a hundred dollars just on little stuff if you don't. Other than that, happy hunting. Oh, and if you want some good conch shells to take home, get them at the Southernmost Point marker. There's usually a cart there with some good deals.
We found shells to be MUCH cheaper in the upper keys, rather than in Key West. Great store filled with all kinds of nautical gifts! corals, shells they had it all, and cheaper!
