shops can be very far out for a non-driver
kissimmee stands out a colourful road of restaurants and gift shops etc with ample signs along the road confettied with palm trees to fulfill its scenery, but that can be appreciated most if you hire a car there. If you are either a non-driver or choose not to drive there (thus having to walk everywhere) one shop/restaurant can be even be a 15 minute walk to the next one, but on the other hand however there ARE outlets which joins one store to another, sso if you choose not to hire a car and you want everything near-by, my advise will be to choose a hotel next to an outlet of shops, then you are not having to walk so far out.

Stay away from brochure attractions!
Ok, I don't think I know of any other place on Earth with more tourist traps and brochures than Kissimmee/ Central FL. Ranging from Butterfly World to Alligator Tours, brochures cover a multitude of bad exhibits. Save for a few brochures on Walt Disney World, Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure, Busch Gardens, and Sea World, about 90% of brochures you see in Central FL will advertise something that is nothing but a waste of money.
Just a little tip to BEWARE OF BROCHURES!
Unique Suggestions: Bring a friend. While any trip with friends is good, a tourist trap here in Central FL can only be bearable with a friend.
Fun Alternatives: Well, when your in Kissimmee, what is there NOT to do?! I highly recommend going to Walt Disney World. Trust me, spend at least 3 to 4 days there and you will experience something absolutely out of this world.
I guarantee one of the most magical experiences of your life awaits you behind the golden archways labelled "Walt Disney World."
