With less than five minutes to spare before the last Big Toho airboat tour of the day is scheduled to leave, my companion and I arrive in the parking lot. I run to the bathroom while she hides behind the car to change her shirt into something a little less formal. We quickly walk/run across the muddy grass, climb on board the boat, and sit down...

If you're looking to get away from the touristy parts surrounding Disney, and all of the chain restaurants that come with it - this is your place to go! Just don't judge a book by it's cover! It's become a tradition when in Florida that on our last night we always go to dinner at Cattleman's as a family. Everyone puts on something a little nicer than our usual Florida tourist attire and we head in (usually sunburnt and slightly hungover) to enjoy a delicious steak. The staff have always, always been excellent, but one thing we learned...

Kissimmee Transportation

The major gateway to Orlando and Walt Disney World is Orlando International Airport (MCO). The airport is ultramodern and huge. However, it is relatively easy to navigate. Monorails shuttle you from gate areas to the core area, where you'll find the baggage claim. The airport lies about 17 miles northeast of Kissimmee.
As we had no transportation during our stay in Kissimmee, we took a taxi from the airport to our hotel and paid about $ 45 for a van with six people. Taxis are located on Level 1 on both the A and B sides of the terminal.

Since Kissimee is a tourist town, there are lots of tourist shops, restaurants around. But be aware that the roadways can get very crowded especially during the summer months. So allow for that and pay attention to the other drivers who might not be as watchful as you would be.
