DON'T BUT TICKETS from the Booth at PONDEROSA on the 192!!!!

Friends bought Disney park tickets from a booth inside the Ponderosa restaurant on 192, only to get to Epcot and find that the tickets had expired in Sept. Luckily they were bought on a credit card so there was proof of time and date of purchase and the staff at Epcot were very helpful in getting them honoured. But the Ponderosa were unhelpful to the Park staff and the police were sent around to the booth.

Later in the week we were approached by another booth close by who wanted to buy our old tickets, which ofcourse we refused. It could have ended badly, so check your tickets carefully if you don't buy them at the Parks and get proof of payment. And also, ticket sellers shouldn't run out of tickets, if they do it's a sure sign the tickets are dodgy. The park told us it's happening several times a day, every day. Be cautious.

Busy roadways

Since Kissimee is a tourist town, there are lots of tourist shops, restaurants around. But be aware that the roadways can get very crowded especially during the summer months. So allow for that and pay attention to the other drivers who might not be as watchful as you would be.

Buying Park Tickets

You will see hundreds and literally hundreds of thes little ticket booth outlets outside food outlets, bargain gift shops and everywhere...all offering disney tickets for silly money. Please, go to a reputable souce or buy from disney themselves to save any possible chance of having dud tickets that ran out months ago. Im not saying they all are bad, but too many horror stories to really want to risk a great family day out and possibly the holiday if you spend several hundred dollars on dud tickets. or if you do, at least use a card, do not pay cash as thats untraceable!!!

We have bought our tickets in the UK through travel agents and had no problems, but again, please make sure the source have a goog long standing reputation!

And for tickets, if you buy anything more than a 4 day ticket the prices go up literally $4 a day from 4 to 10 days, it only expensive if you only going for 1-3 days!

Avoid Florida splendid china!

Description:
We are protesting the inclusion of religious exhibits because there is no freedom to practice religion in China. The use of these symbols of religious thought and expression after the brutal treatment of religions and religious people by the communist government should be pointed-out. Although economic reform has been made, no such relaxation of the heavy-handed manipulations in religious matters from the communist party are in sight. If anything during the last year, the pressure on religion has increased.

motels

one good thing about kissimmee is that they offer some of the best motel rates in the orlando area. the visitor should be aware that some of the motels in kissimmee pre date disney and many on US192 were built in the 1970's. some of the US192 motels are great and some are not so good. besure to do some internet home work before booking a hotel in kissimmee. book on sites that give customer reviews of the property. all though rare, there are occurances of hotel parking lot robberies on US192 and hotel room break ins. some times it is best to pay a little bit more for a nicer and safer room. see my orlando pages for some more orlando area hotel tips.

Theme park tickets

We bought our theme park tickets (about 3 weeks before we were due to go) in the UK, from what we thought was a reputable company (http://www.park-tickets.com/), however, we were wrong. We bought them from a company based in Chester, UK, from their website, which said that you bought them from them, and collected them from their 'collections' office in Orlando. We had a few problems after buying the tickets, but despite several attempts, we couldn't get through on the telephone to talk to anyone. However, as the date for us going on holiday approached, all we could do was hope that when we got to the office in Orlando, that our tickets would be there, and there would be no problems.

My husband went into the office to collect the tickets, only to be informed that the 'offers' that we'd bought the tickets under had expired months ago. When my husband told the guy in the office where we bought the tickets from, he shook his head, and said that that company, and in particular one member of staff, was "bad news". It was only due to the generosity of the guys in the 'collection' office (which was actually a fully fledged ticket office, i.e they sold tickets there too) that we were given the Disney tickets for which we'd paid. Unfortunetly, he was unable to give us the buy one get one free for the universal tickets, as that had ended over 3 months ago.

My tip is to not bother buying your tickets in the UK. I'd highly recommend the ticket office that we collected ours from, they sold all sorts of tickets, including the dinner shows, trips to Miami etc. They really seemed to know their stuff too, and their ticket prices were substantially cheaper than those offered to us by our resort representative, and only about $5-10 more than what we'd paid here in the UK.
