    Beach Playground

    Playground at the beach

Favorite thing: This nice little playground is at the public Sombrero Beach. So you don't have to go to McDonalds to have a place for the children to play. You can go to the beach, have a picnic, swim or snorkel and the children can play on the equipment if they get bored of the beach.

Fondest memory: Sombrero Drive runs along side the K Mart shopping center. Drive back about three
miles you will find Sombrero Beach. Obey the speed limit in the residential areas.

Child chasing bird on Sombrero Beach

Favorite thing: Sombrero Beach is a public beach - one of the best in the Keys. It is FREE.

The park has been recently refurbished with new picnic shelters, bath houses and a playground and is in pristine condition. A very nice sandy beach and swimming area all along the waterfront. Good parking out on the street and the area is fenced so the kids can run amuck. Pets are welcome.

There is a nice playground area with slides and things for the small fry, or they can just play on the beach.

Fondest memory: Open 7:30 a.m. until Dusk

Location: Located at the end of Sombrero Beach Blvd., two miles from Overseas Highway

12.6 acre Beach, accessible to people with disabilities.

Facilities: 1/3 of a mile of sandy beach with a roped off swimming are (No lifeguards on duty - swim at your own risk)
Pier at the west end of the beach
    Two volleyball courts
Thirteen picnic pavilions with picnic tables and barbeque grills
    Playground equipment
A winding pathway that takes you through a beautifully landscaped section of the beach
Two restroom facilities, each with a men's and women's restroom and accessible to people with disabilities
125 parking spaces and 6 spaces for people with disabilities
Beach is dog friendly and doggie bags are provided
