Sombrero Beach is a public beach - one of the best in the Keys. It is FREE.

The park has been recently refurbished with new picnic shelters, bath houses and a playground and is in pristine condition. A very nice sandy beach and swimming area all along the waterfront. Good parking out on the street and the area is fenced so the kids can run amuck. Pets are welcome.

There is a nice playground area with slides and things for the small fry, or they can just play on the beach.

    Open 7:30 a.m. until Dusk

    Two volleyball courts
Thirteen picnic pavilions with picnic tables and barbeque grills

    Beach in the Keys

Well you are in Florida, you must find a beach to sun on. There are nice beaches to laze around on and catch some rays. But watch out for the Man-O-Wars, big purple/blue balloon looking things with very long tentacles that have a painful and sometimes deadly sting.

    Aqua water, White Sand

The beach and grounds are beautifully kept. Even on a school holiday, there was enough sand and water space for all. Nice restrooms.

Especially interesting are the coral banks that make up each of the points at the ends of the beach.

Small shells liter the waters edge. Another plus for us.

    Quiet Beauty

Enjoy a pristine beach, a channel that attracts birds, a small lake and nature trail. Fishing must be good because there were many people there sporting poles.
