    The 'Canes

Yes, our college football team has a somewhat deservedly bad reputation as a team with an attitude, but, if you're in Miami during football season, come watch our team play. Then maybe you'll understand what Miami football is about. We (the true fans and not the bandwagon folks) love our sports teams in Miami, especially football, and the 'Canes are the local favorites.

I would be remiss if I did not pay homage to my childhood heroes of the 80's, the University of Miami Hurricanes Football program. During my time in Miami, I can remember a few games at the Orange Bowl. It is a unique experience in that when the crowd gets riled up, you can feel the stadium literally move. It is safe and sturdy, however it is a conduit that allows you to feel the passion and excitement of Hurricane Football fans. No they don't have a catchy fight song like Notre Dame, and by the way the mascot is not a stork, it is an Ibis and his name is Sebastian. Seminole and Gator fans share a mutual disdain for my beloved 'Canes since the past few years have shown that Miami, has sent them all packing back to their locker rooms defeated and bruised. It has been awhile since the last national championship was brought to Miami, but time can produce miracles when you least expect it.

Equipment: Oh this is easy, beer, orange and green face paint, sunscreen, binoculars to view the great plays (or the latina hermosas in the stands).

Catch a UM football game game. Sports fans will really enjoy this. In the pictures attached, the FSU and UM match on October 12, 2002.

    Equipment: Binoculars.
