Located in the Key Biscayne area inside Bill Baggs State Park is the Cape Florida Lighthouse, once the area of incredible violence from pirates and such (Black Caesar) and also Seminole Indians who attacked in 1836. The latest lighthouse incarnation was rededicated in time for Miami's Centennial Celebration in 1996. Great area around the lighthouse for picnicing and such but watch out for the very tame raccoons---do check out the lovely beach, tho!
