A fast food outlet with caged animals

by johnaalex Written Mar 17, 2013

I will always to see animals in the wild but fully accept that zoos and wildlife parks have their place. Hopefully their "place" is to edcuacte and entertain. Sadly I found this place lacking in both respects.

White lions and white tigers in the same cage - forget they come from different continents! Oh, and while we are at it let's feed them chicken!. I iwsh this was not true, but it is.

The peguin "display" amounted to about half a dozen birds. The attendent told to hang around for the "show", when I said I was not really interested in seeing animals perform she seemed a bit upset and told me it was a "really good show". When I asked if she had seen a pengiun colony for real she said "no", I just said that she should as that is a "real show!"

I did not get some nice photos, but really this place is not worth the money.

The Jungle Island is located just outside downtown Miami. Here you can feed the parrots, flamingos and fish with food from gumball machines and see some shows.

Just an advice when feeding be carefull and don't make sudden moves, when a parrot holds your hand with its feet don't pull back. Pulling back wil make them hold on more tightly and their nails are sharp. All in all the birds are very friendly but some caution can be in place.

Besides parrots you wil find gators, monkeys, reptiles, gators and more...

The park is in very good condition, and fairly new.

The absolute must see if you come to Miami. This is a park where you can feed and pet many beautiful parrots, watch shows featuring condors, cassowaries, Gilo monsters and albino crocodiles. There is also a petting zoo. It is located between Miami and Miami Beach off I-195.

Parrot Jungle: Lush tropical botanical garden and home to over 1,200 birds and other animals.
Getting up close and personal with the many species of parrots and birds found in this wonderful park. See the shows and exhibits and marvel at the smartness of these wonderful animals.
