The American Airlines Centre is the home of the Miami Heat, Miami’s much-loved basketball team. It also happens to be a massive landmark on the city’s waterfront that can help you to orient yourself should you get lost.

Our "Gal in the Street" (or, Subject on the Lam) provided this stellar 'who's-who' photo while at the Extravaganza in Miami. The Travel Slut (Ann) really gets around, and the paparazzi was hot after the 'Bouffant That Roared". (Photo providence of Ann). Great work, Ann!

If you like seeing how the celebrities live, then go on a cruise to Millionaire's Row - this is the Miami equivalent of LA's celebrity homes tour. You'll get to see the homes of Gloria Estefan and Shaquille O'Neal. You'll also be able to see the Miami skyline, the Port of Miami, Brickell Key, and Fisher Island. The tour takes one and a half hours. Fully commentated. Snacks and drinks available for sale onboard.

We took a sunset boat trip that took us along the Venetian Islands that lie between the Art Deco District and Miami Downtown. Apart from the beautiful sunset, you are shown around the houses of some of the rich and famous like Gloria Estefan and Julio Iglesias. Although the captain's explanations were a bit difficult to understand (bad sound system and high motor noise), the overall impression of the cruise was good value.

Go see a baseball or football game at Dolphins Stadium. There is nothing like the outdoors at a ball game.

This short, but large river adds beauty to the city landscape. You can see many bridges and boats passing under them - which makes using avenues that cross the river somewhat of a hassle.
