We went to the Monkey Jungle (which is advertised as "Where Humans Are Caged and Monkeys Run Wild!") on a trip from Key West to Miami sometime in 1967 when this picture was taken. I do not remember much about it, but the kids enjoyed it. In addition to many species of primates, they also have birds.

The people are caged here...
When we got back from our trip to Key West we saw the sign for the Monkey Jungle. We have been driving past it for a few times over the years but this time we decide to follow the signs... The park itself is on the right of Southwest 216 street. It is easy to pass it by so as soon you see a sign slow down and turn right...
After parking your car (no parking fee) you can enter the shop where you can buy your ticket...
Then the yourney begins, you start walking into the cage and notice little baskets hanging on chains.... If you are wondering why they are there for the monkeys will show you by banging them to the cages. You are suppose to fill them with raisins or nuts you can by at the gift shop or around the park...
If you fill them the monkeys pull them up and take the food to drop the baskets for more.. but if you stretch your hand they also will take it from your hand.
Around the park are presentations on set times, it isn't a real large park but depending if you stay at the presentations you can spend the morning or afternoon here...
