    Unfortunately, rip currents are sometimes a danger on any of the beaches in Miami. If you find yourself being pulled away from shore by a strong current (up to 5 miles per hour!), keep your head above water and prepare for your arrival at the Bahamas. (kidding!) Actually, you should swim parallel to shore until you're out of the current's influence, then swim back to shore. Always look at the lifeguard stands for warnings or surf conditions before swimming.

    If you're going to South Beach by car, study the parking signs closely, they can be difficult to figure out. Miami beach gives preferential treatment to local residents, donot be confused. Parking tickets are almost an industry in South Beach. Meter maids are very active. The municipal parking at $8.00 is a bargain compared to a ticket.

    It is said the Ocean Drive District could be dangerous, though police patrols frequently. The more you better watch the signs all around ... the more you could think too easy about the "danger" of South Miami and surroundings. Don't !!! The police patrols frequently ... to impose a fine. It's funny to see the notice-boards when standing all together. Watch your step, danger lurks everywhere ! Especially in the sky ...
