Nikki Beach: Sunday on the beach

    Chillin at Nikki Beach

Sunday afternoons and evenings at Nikki Beach are very enjoyable. The first time I was there the Teepees freaked me out, but this place is a really nice, laid back spot to enjoy yoourself. I loved the sushi (Salmon was awesome) and the girls here are A+ for great conversation, and last time there were a few football players here enjoying the same atmosphere I was.

    Opium Garden/Prive': Friday Night Lights

    Opium before the crowd
    2 more images

I loved Opium Garden from the moment I stepped inside. Friday night is the best night I've been here, at least as far as the energy. You walk into an open sky with a japanese themed decor. The dance floor is on your left with plush couches and the bar is on your right, with the latest techno trance beats and trendy SouthBeachians pouring bottles of their favorite poisons. Go up the stairs on your right into the VIP area, or go straight past the techno dance floor to the upper bar to dance to some of the hottest hip-hop beats. DO NOT wander up the stairs behind the techno floor, that is the DJ's perch, and yes, I did that, my drunk ass sat there 10 minutes before I realized I was in the DJ booth.

Club Crobar, State Club an BED: Memorial Day in South Beach

IF you want nightlife and like clubs, I recommend 3 major clubs CROBAR, BED, STATECLUB. These three clubs have over 3 levels some go to 6. They stay open til 5am. In Miami anything goes! Or if you like the warm white sandy beaches this is the place as long as you can take the humidity? South Beach has rows and rows of out door cafe's and shopping.

THe Laundry Bar: has to be seen to be believed - do your laudry..

    by jhorsfield30 Written Mar 10, 2007

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

The Laundry Bar is predominantly gay-lesbian but is very straight-friendly. The Laundry Bar is a great time but be careful because the 2-4-1 happy hour could have you spinning like your laundry. Internet access, video games, and billiard tables are available.

Shown by a local I was staying with, this interesting little gem, hidden away, but has a interesting crowd and atmosphere about it, I was in hysterics on seeing the neon lit laundry machines on full cycle while people were chillin' at the bar

Playwright Irish Pub: The Shamrock in South Beach

    Playwright Irish Pub

The Playwright Irish Pub is a great place for someone to visit who is from up North and doesn't exactly want to dress to impress- but wants to enjoy a few beers, and yet still be around some of the beautiful South Beach singles. I had been here many times and enjoyed the Cider they call Strongbow- its a must if you visit this Pub.

Dress Code: Irish Pub-esque, no need for designer Italian here!

    Nikki Beach: Sunday nights

by rafgys Written Jul 16, 2006

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

On a Sunday night... there's no better option than Nikki Beach. Great music, great atmosphere, lousy bartenders and great chicks!

Even in the afternoon... the place is already packed. The party begins outside, in the beach, with DJs playing it loud... and then, it's time to get "dressed" and go inside.

It's the most beautiful club in South Beach.

Dress Code: Because it's in the beach... you can see everything. A lot of people go with flip-flops and shorts, a lot of people go there like the Miami's plastic dress code... you know, it's South Beach. Plus everything in between.

    Club Deep: Dancing on water

by HotSpotJ Written Apr 25, 2005

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

    Club Deep

Club Deep is one a my favorite places to go if I just don't feel like dressing to impress. This place plays hip-hop and caters to the crowd that solely listens to that, and has a very unique decor with aqua walls and even a fish-filled aquarium to dance on. The VIP is not nearly as plush as your Opium or even Crobar, but all things considered this is a nice place to get your groove-on.

Dress Code: The dress code here is more relaxed than other spots, and, the crowd is not as haughty and rich as the rest of South Beach. Just a great place to get drunk and have genuine fun, not the place to see celebs or anything like that.

Wet Willies: Day or night- wet your willie

by HotSpotJ Written Feb 8, 2005

    Wet Willies

This isn't exactly a nightspot because its good to chill out in the afternoons as well, but Wet Willies has become a traditional starting point for me in a night of drinking. I've only eaten appetizers there, so I can't really comment on the food, but the frozen drinks are sooo good. My favorite is Call a Cab, and only drink one if you're going to drink elsewhere, they are strong. Also try mixing the drinks, I get the Shock Treatment mixed with Call a Cab sometimes if I'm mixing.

Dress Code: Wear whatever you want at this spot. Beware, on some nights I've seen them try to charge cover, when they usually do not.

    Sunday Beach Party @ Nikkis...

by Weener Updated Dec 13, 2003

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Sunday Beach Party @ Nikkis Beach Club
Cover charge $20(in 2001). 3pm-5am (I think that’s when it finishes anyway). ‘Balearic Beats from Ibiza’
I LOVED THIS PLACE!! If you don’t go anywhere else for nightlife in Miami, you MUST go here, and save it for Sunday, which is by far the best night to go. I have never experienced a place like this before anywhere else in the world, you would only find it in Miami! Opens 3pm, but doesn’t really get busy until 7pm. Its all situated on the beach outside, in what I can only describe as the biggest garden patio party I’ve ever experienced! Split into different sections by hedges and palm trees, each area accessible through the fairy lit pathways. Right at the end are tee-pees and floor cushions. A beach area, presumably used during the sun light hours, have Thai style lounge beds. Lotsof plush wooden patio furniture scattered around and funky leather sofas. Food is also served.
The undercover area plays uplifting funky house, all the latest tunes, whereas the other outdoor areas are more chilled out with people hanging around chatting and being seen! The odd celebrity passing through. Apparently sporting the ‘highest beautiful person ratio in the country per square foot’ as quoted by ‘egotrip’ magazine!

    Weener's Nightlife Tip

by Weener Written Sep 12, 2002

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Miami nightlife is buzzing. If this is the reason for you going to Miami, my suggestion would be to go during the Winter Music Conference held every year, normally the end of March. This is when all the top DJs worldwide (particularly UK DJs) come over to play the latest tunes for the year, so lots of guest DJs playing in the top clubs. If you miss this the conference, as I did, it doesn’t matter because Miami is great all year through. Be warned that the drinks are pricey in Miami.

No cover charge or dress code. Bar venue with interesting interior; massage beds for people to sit (or lay down!) on, and large white curtain surrounding the bar. Tuesday are the best and busiest nights, it’s the ‘locals night’. Playing a mix of music from 80s and 90s with the odd house tune here and there. A good crowd, with mixed nationalities due to the Banana Hostel being just up the road

This place is not stylish in any way, but the drinks are strong, the Jukebox is gigantic and has an amazing selection and there are plenty of pool tables to keep you busy and having fun...and therefore drinking all night. I'm not a beer drinker, but they have an international selection and neither the staff nor the guests are pretentious! When you have drunk your fill you can stumble right across the road to Jerrys Deli -open 24 hours!!

    Dress Code: Absolutely none!!
