Bal Harbor shops is an upscale area featuring Sacks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, Gucci, Fendi, etc. Its where the "ladies who lunch" and the upper crust go to shop. The rest of us like to browse!
What to buy: Designer clothes at Neiman's, shoes at Gucci, purses and Ferragamo, lingerie at La Perla, suits at Brooks Brothers, croissants at the cafe and cookies and chocolates at Kron.
What to pay: If you purchase all of the above, you will spend a great deal

You name the high end brand, and they have the store or a store that has it in South Beach. And I thought the plane tickets were expensive...my wife put us in the poor house!
Actually we had a lot of fun shopping in South Beach. The service was either spectacular (for some reason 30year old men ruled) or sucked bad (early 20's women). But we managed to do some damage.
Everything you can want in the highly fashionable SoBe.
What to buy: What not to buy, as my wife would say.
