Mount Dora Transportation

  • mwenn2100's Profile Photo

    by mwenn2100 Written May 13, 2005

Once you get into the downtown area, park your car along one of the streets for free and start walking! The whole downtown is a few blocks and must be seen on foot to make sure you don't pass any curious shops without stopping in. There are nice, wide sidewalks and lovely greenery throughout. Parking is sometimes a problem on the weekends, but generally it is very easy to find a spot.

Mount Dora Warnings and Dangers

  • by mtdoracustomer Updated Apr 4, 2011

After having been steady customers for over two years, the owner (Rich Marinacci) took exception to my 81 year old mother taking the unfinished table bread home with her (did he want to reuse it?). When I confronted the owner about this (as he didn?t have the decency to complain to me himself but had a server tell us), he became defensive and rude casting, himself as the victim. What a way to treat loyal customers, we?ll never go back. Shame on you!

Mount Dora Favorites

  • Wrought iron balconies

These wrought iron balconies are another "southern" feature. I've seen this sort of thing not only in Tampa and Key West, but also in New Orleans and parts of Alabama. The covered arcade on the second floor kept the upstairs interior rooms somewhat cooler, an important fact in the days before A/C.
