All along 3rd Ave, parallel to the beach, and starting at the cross section of 8th street is an area known as Old Naples. This is a cool area with beautiful artwork, sculptures and fountains everywhere you turn. Mainly their are galleries here, as well as some restaurants. An excellent visual treat so bring your camera and some walking shoes.
Great tour of the old Naples area, everthing is included, nice bicycles, fun guides, We rode in a beautiful area, walked on the Naples pier, walked out on the city dock, lots of information, the sceanery was great. Nice way to see Naples. We also booked a tour in the Everglades. They picked us up and transported us to the riding area with all the equipment. This was really special, We rode in a preserve, no cars, just Nature, birds, alligators, guide knew all about the area. Also took us to a boardwalk into the swamp to see the an eagle and baby alligators. This was a really great way to see the Everglades.
Note; The Everglades area is vast, intimidating and a remote area. If you do it yourself get good directions from a guide. The area is real primative in all ammenities. It is way out there and don't explore - you will get lost, run out of gas and the locals are wary of strangers.
Here you can find all kinds of shops, outdoor cafes and restaurants. It has little courtyards and parks which gives the place a mixture of Mediterranean, European, and Caribbean feelings to it. It also has lot's of galeries, they claim to have to most of southwest Florida but that's something we didn't check.
