Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Although Florida doesn't experience all 4 seasons like northern states do, it still gets cold. In the summer months, it gets hot. Some days are humid while most days are just hot but bearable. This changes every year however. I've noticed that this year, it's far less humid than it was last year. If you plan on being outdoors a lot, shorts, short sleeve shirts, and sandals/flip flops will do. I'd also suggest bringing sunglasses and possibly a hat. Bring a sweater and an umbrella as well because it rains nearly everyday in the summer. Autumn months and spring months are cooler and most locals can get away with wearing jeans everyday. Believe it or not, it does get cold in the winter months especially in the mornings and evenings. I lived in Massachusetts for 16 years and I know what cold is. Think you can handle the Florida cold? Think again. Definitely bring a sweater with you if you plan on vacationing in December or January.

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: If you're like me and you burn in 5 minutes when exposed to the sun, bring sunblock and aloe in case you do burn. Believe me, the physical pain of sunburns will ruin your vacation.

Luggage and bags: i recommand a small backpack and or a fannypack. also neck card holders! card holders, fanny packs, other carry arounds can be bought in parks, but at a suffiently highier price then let's say wal-mart!

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: pack light sweater for night time chills. comfortable walking shoes ones that tie rather that slip on are best. ponchoes are package small and are light wieght for those surprize flordia showers! cardholders are good for keeping tickets ,passes, room keys, and creditcards so you don't have to carry around a wallet with fear of losing it. carry some change but not too much because some stands don't take credit. i should really talk to disney about that, because that's really anoying in todays day and age!

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: sun screen, or will scream later went you go to take a shower at the hotel! =) spray on sun screen is what i'd reccomend because a light aloe misting in the hot flordia sun feels kind of refreshing when your'e heating up. plus your'e protecting your'e skin at the same time! kill to birds at once. if traveling with children pack age aproate snacks and toiletries even if your kids aren't babies any more having baby wipes on hand is ever a bad idea! sunglasses are a pian to keep up with and hats make your head sweat too much so i suggust sun vitors! miostier dosen't get traped on your head and you won't have to worried about wear to put your glasses went it's time to ride! your'e going to luangh, but i'm serious on this next one, a pack of gas-x and a bottle of I B profien would be good idems to pack. that come form personel experices of discomfort!

Photo Equipment: water prof. camras are great

Luggage and bags: take a spare bag/rucksack with you. You Will buy loads of stuff and will need to get it home somehow! luggage here is expensive.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Sunhats, suncream and waterproof mac! it is the thunderstorm capital! lol!

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: We always take a good supply of medicines but you can buy anything here to be honest.

Photo Equipment: Again, you can buy amazing cameras at brilliant prices, but if you are taking your own, bring plenty of film or memory!

Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: HIGH sun factor cream, the sun is really intense and we got burnt very quickly. some kind of waterproof sandal are great for the water parks and the water rides at the other parks.

Luggage and bags: Take a day pack with you . Lockers are available as soon as you enter for a fee of $7.00. You can store extra articles there incase you need them later.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: A sun hat, and rain poncho and good walking shoes , are a good idea for a day at the park . However we always come prepared. What starts out as a hot day can turn chilly as the day turns in to evening.

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: There are firt aid stations here but don't forget sunscreen . It's more expensive here.

Photo Equipment: Lots of digital memory and don't forget batteries. You can purchase them but they will cost more here.

Miscellaneous: It's a good idea to pack a water bottle for everyone . They can be refilled at the foutains . We always take a cooler for our lunch and store it in oor locker.

    Summer Heat

    by gv_Orlando Written Sep 24, 2007

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: light colored clothing, loose fitting shorts, t-shirts and tops, airy shoes like the sandal-style tennis shoes, sun visors, sunglasses, poncho for the summer months (May-September).

Same as above, but maybe a light jacket as well and a pair of jeans and sneakers for the winter months (October- April).

In November through March we can have one day every 6 days or so where it can get really cold at night (in the mid-30s). It just depends if a cold front is forecasted to impact the State.

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: Sunscreen, vinegar is helpful with jellyfish stings.

Photo Equipment: I recommend bringing a digital point and shoot that can fit in your pocket. You really can't lug around tripods and expensive camera gear comfortably around the theme parks. If you plan on doing things other than the theme parks like going to the beach, then maybe the nicer camera gear will be less of a bother.

Luggage and bags: Just pack your essentials and nothing else or stuff that your prepared to leave behind as your bound to get carried away when visiting BELZ,Florida Mall and the Premium factory outlet places and Universal and WDW!!

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Comfy trainers for theme parks is a must,

Photo Equipment: There are plenty of disposable camera outlets at theme parks but can be expensive, would be cheaper if you take your own digital camera with plenty of memory cards, camcorders and so on

Jacket needed at night in October

    by Icemaiden02 Written Jan 16, 2006

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Luggage and bags: A good piece of advice I got from someone before I left for Disney: bring half the amount of clothes and twice the amount of money you think you'll need!

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Bring at least an extra pair of shoes- expect one to get soaked on the water rides in Walt Disney World, and another at SeaWorld, so bring sandals/slippers/flip-flops so you wont be stuck with soggy shoes for a day!

Miscellaneous: During the day in mid-October, a t-shirt and shorts will work just fine. However, nights were chilly and a light jacket was necessary.

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Luggage and bags: get a backpack on wheels especially when traveling in the theme parks

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: 1. sneakers and sandals with soft bottoms cause you will be doing a lot of walking once you go to these theme parks. Remember Disney is now as huge as the island of Manhattan in NY.
    2. sunglasses for the sun is blazing.
    3. clothing that you do not mind getting wet

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: bug spray, sunscreen or sunblock, lotion, portable hand held fans

Photo Equipment: might want to bring an underwater camera for certain activities

    Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: fan

Miscellaneous: snacks are kind of expensive in the parks so bring your own potato chips, pretzels, and mini juices from home. I find Orlando prices of groceries to be more expensive than back home in NYC.

    rain everyday

    by iam1wthee Written Aug 9, 2005

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Bring umbrella. It rains everyday in Orlando due to the cross winds of the Gulf of Mexico and Atlantic Ocean plus the place is full of lakes. It doesnt always rain for the entire day but it can pour. Don't let the rain spoil your plans because things will carry on anyway

by mikeraw Written Jan 12, 2004

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Luggage and bags: On your outward journey try to take as little as possible re clothes, as when you start looking around the shops in the Sunshine State you will find clothes are good quality and cheap, you can pick up an extra case in the Flea Markets for about $8 to $12 to bring home the extra clothes.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Suggest 3 Changes of clothes per person.
Buy a good pair of training shoes when you arrive, they are cheap

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: Toiletries sufficient for first few days

Photo Equipment: If you are carrying Camcorder Etc, be prepared when going through customs in Florida to be asked to turn it on, its a security thing
