 | Orlando Restaurants | Tips 61 - 70 of 507 | | The dinner and a movie resturant or sci-fi Theater is o.k... The food as in all most all the places in Disney and Universal was excellent, but a little pricey only because you get to sit in a car 50's style and watch a sci-fi movie.. Unless they have changed the movie is not really a movie but more of short little clips and commercials than anything.. If your budget minded than don't eat there, We have been once and that was enough.... There are many other places to eat
Had a hamburger and fries and a coke just like the movies, only than we did not have children....Remeber....... Leave a Comment

On day 2 of our family vacation, Rich and I brought the kids to Cosmic Rays for lunch. This is another one of Disney's quick service meal options. What made this place nice was the animated singing creature at the front end of the restaurant. I also liked the burger bar that was here. You could load your burger with a variety of toppings including freshly sliced tomatoes, raw onions, sautéed onions, sautéed mushrooms, lettuce, ketchup, mustard, mayo etc. I had a bacon double cheeseburger with french fries, a diet coke and a brownie. I couldn't finish my food due to the gross out factor. What that means is that I got one of those grizzle pieces in my burger and couldn't eat any more. Once again the boys had chicken nuggets and fries with some soda pop to drink. It was really hard finding a table for 6 here, lets face it, it was hard to find a table for 2. Patrick, Thaddeus and I scoped out the place until we saw someone leaving and then we pounced on the table and managed to wrangle up some additional chairs from nearby tables. This restaurant opens at 10:30 AM and closes when the park does, this varies to to extra magic hours. One neat aspect about this place is that it has 3 different service stations, one for chicken, one for burgers and the other for salads and sandwiches. There are a few vegetarian options as well as some kosher options.
I didn't eat the brownie until later in the day, but it was ultra yummy and moist.

This place is fantastic. Don't be scared away by the health food concept. The chef uses no butter or oil, but creates great food using fresh meats and vegetables. Everything is low fat, low calorie and it still tastes great. There is an outdoor patio area overlooking a lake which is a great place to sit when the weather is cooperating.
The menu changes weekly, which is why its called "Seasons 52." But the flatbread is a constant and its great. Leave a Comment Theme: Health FoodPrice: US$11-20 » Currency ConverterComparison: about averageDirections: Sand Lake Road and Dr. Phillips Blvd.

This is yet another of Disney's quick service meal options. It hosts the usual burgers, fries and chicken nugget choices along with a few surprises. I was very happy with my roasted vegetable sandwich which was basically mushroom, zucchini, red peppers, tomato paste, cheese and watercress on a toasted roll served with a black bean salad. Rich and I both had the strawberry parfait for dessert, but I only ate the yogurt part of it, the berries looked gross. Rich had the grilled chicken salad and the boys once again enjoyed chicken nuggets and french fries. There really isn't much to be said for the atmosphere here. It reminded me of a mechanics shop. There was plenty of seating which was nice and the sound from the Star War and Indiana Jones events was minimal especially when compared to the outside sound levels. My most ungraceful Disney moment happened here when I stepped backwards onto Patrick who was sitting on the floor. I had one of those slow motion falls that you see in the movies. It really was funny after the fact. This place is open from 11:30 AM till 8 PM Monday thru Friday and doesn't require reservations.
I loved the roasted vegetable sandwich, but the black bean salad was my favorite.

I went there for my birthday, with my Mother and Sister. It is the traditional "ma and pa" kinda' place. I was delighted! The atmosphere was Greek inspired, with the background music playing, taking your mind to a Cycladic Island. We were greeted with warm smiles, and friendly service. The owner made sure to introduce himself, and see if we were enjoying ourselves. I must say that even the other patrons were happy to wish me a Happy Birthday, and you knew they were regulars there. We started our meal with homemade hummus and some delicious, warm pita bread. We accompanied that, with fresh, Greek salads. I ordered the pasticio, which is a traditional Greek pasta dish, while we also ordered chicken slouvaki, which was tender and had just the right touch of spices. After we finished our lunch, I was serenaded by Nick, a regular at the restaurant, and all the restaurant employees, with a lovely song, and a tempting chocolate dessert. We also added on to our dessert menu with baklava. Who can leave a Greek restaurant, without having a piece of baklava? It was the best baklava I have ever had. All the appetizers, main dishes and desserts were so savory, I wish I had room for more. We were all very pleased with this restaurant. If you are looking to get away from all those corporate restaurant franchises, I reccomend Athenian Garden Cafe, for a nice, Greek getaway. You will not be dissapointed. I rate the atmosphere, service, friendliness and food 5 stars! OPA!!!!
There are so many great dishes there, that I feel anybody would be satisfied with whatever they would order. I really have to say don't leave the restaurant, without a piece of baklava! The best Chicken Wings in the world. And I'M not really a Wings Gal... But they are HUGE. I don't want to THINK of the drugs / steroids they got these chickens on. Taste's real good. I try not to think about it. Unless I start sprouting wings.
BBQ Chicken wings, and when I'm in the mood for vegi dining, their Portabelo / Gorgonzola sandwich on Focacio ain't too shabby. Also: Thai Chicken salad could feed the third world and parts of the US South.... Before you declare that you would rather have your fingernails pulled off before you ate at a buffet in Orlando, at a Disney property no less, let me tell you that this is NOT a Shoney's or Denny's type experience nor is it the typical overpriced Disney meal although not inexpensive at $25.99 per person (children between 3-9 are $11.99). I definitely thought it was worth the money, not something you would have heard me utter often while at Disney World. BOMA is located at the very high end Disney property, the Animal Kingdom Lodge, where I would stay if I a)won the lottery and b)could turn off that $%& calculator in my head, the resort is beautiful with outdoor fire pits and fireplaces in the lobby and lovely design touches, be sure to have a look around the grounds should you head here for dinner. And be sure to go by the pool area where they offer night scope viewing of the "savannah", that was pretty awesome! This is the only place I've ever eaten where they ask you if you have food allergies and the chef actually walks you through the buffet and tells you what to avoid. Make sure you have reservations especially in high season.
The food on the buffet at BOMA was very fresh, not over cooked by heat lamps and very flavorful. The dishes, in keeping with the safari theme of the resort, are inspired by flavors from 50 different countries in Africa. I imagine the menu changes from day to day but the buffet will always have soups, salads, entrees and desserts. I thought the meat and fish dishes I tried were all good, prime rib, salmon and coca cola pork loin were a few of the options. And the dessert selection was terrific, I think I sampled a little bit of almost everything, the banana bread pudding with vanilla sauce was the best! There were some items specifically for kids like peanut butter & jelly sandwiches, chicken wings, macaroni and cheese, french fries and toll house cookies but if you have unadventurous eaters among you, this might not be a good choice. Some of my favorite memories from our Disney trip are actually from this restaurant and believe it or not they have nothing to do with food. This was the only time the kids came face to face with any characters during our vacation. My heart bounced with joy when Patrick walked up to Piglet and gave him a great big hug. It was so cute. Even cuter was when they had the parade and Patrick and Sebastian jumped behind Tigger and jumped around the restaurant. I put a video of it up for you guys to chuckle at. Poor Thaddeus didn't like the characters at all. He climbed up on Richie's lap and very nervously watched each and every character as they walked by. Piglet was great when we asked him not to go near Thaddeus. So now lets get to the food. The food here was really, really yummy. They had a really great selection of hot and cold dishes for the kids and the adults. I think this was the first time Patrick tried non Kraft macaroni and cheese and actually liked it. He even had seconds. I tried a little bit of just about everything. The roast pork rubbed with Adobo was really tender and melted in my mouth. I also tried the Moroccan couscous salad, the Romaine blue cheese salad, the Mediterranean pasta salad, the salmon and for dessert I had the coconut flam and some key lime pie. Richie loved his food as well and indulged with some prime rib, curry mussles, cinnamon and lemon basmati rice along with some fruit and cookies for dessert. The kids of course had chicken nuggets, pizza, macaroni and cheese, ice cream sundaes and cookies. I can't honestly say it's the best buffet at Disney as many folks think, but it was yummy. My only disappointment was that not every character comes to every table. Seems the characters have a set series of tables that they visit, but if your child would like to see a particular character, feel free to run over to the table they are at and snap a picture of them sneaking in a hug. The Crystal Palace serves breakfast, lunch and dinner hours are below: Breakfast-8:00 AM to 11:30 AM Lunch-11:30 AM to 2:45 PM Dinner-3:00 PM to ? (time varies depending on park hours) The price of the buffet depends upon which meal you go for and whether you are a child or an adult, plan on spending anywhere from $15.00 to $36.00 per person. Obviously children are less expensive. You do need a reservation for this restaurant as it is very popular, Disney suggests making reservations ASAP, we made ours 2 months ahead and got stuck with a 9:30 PM eating time, so plan accordingly folks.
I loved the Adobo slow roasted pork and the coconut flan.

You probably know by now that Epcot is my favorite Disney Park, and the World Showcase is my favorite part of Epcot! I love all the unique "country" pavilions surrounding the beautiful lake there. It's just a fantastic place. We love to try the speciality restaurants or their smaller, quick service dining options. So far we have had some great meals at Morocco (twice), China, the German Oktoberfest, England and most recently Canada. The wildly popular "Food & Wine Festival" is held every October in the World Showcase at Epcot. During the Food & Wine Festival each country, plus many more countries without their own permanent pavilions at Epcot, set up kiosks from which you can purchase beers, wine and sample dishes typical of their country. (You might think it was similar to "Las Ramblas" in Barcelona where you sample tapas from different bars.) You'll find Ireland, Greece, Australia, Scandinavia, Poland, South Africa, and many more. You just step up and order a glass of wine or cup of beer, maybe a sampler of beers, and your choice of sample dishes from their country. The food usually costs you about $3.50 with beer and wines $5 to $8 dollars. Be aware that to attend the Wine & Food Festival you must purchase a ticket for admission to Epcot park itself. Tickets to Disney can be purchased online through their website, from AAA, and other outlets. Prices vary based on many factors.
I particularly enjoyed a Carlsberg beer from Denmark! I also enjoyed samples from the Greek Kiosk. My husband liked his beer samples from Ireland, England, Canada, and Scandinavia. Everyone is strolling around enjoying theirselves, and enjoying the music and activities. If you like wine, beer, and international cuisine, you should visit Epcot in October! The Globe is a converted grunge bar that serves vegetarian food that's actually pretty good. It's open all the time, too, so it can always cure your need for soy.
