cross country creek (with the tiles floating around the park.)warning sunburn.
downhill double dipper
there are two other water parks
river country and typhoon lagoon.
we didnot go there because we didnot have more time.
we took a trow away watercamera with us.
Our favorite water park ever! We went there just a few days ago ( July 2010) and had a great time going down the slides. Our son got to "open up " the park by being the first one down Summit Plummit , the largest slide ( see photo). We got in half hour early, got free towels and a locker, plus the Ski Captain pavillion, just because Colin volunteered to go down that slide first thing:-)
My favorites: the dark tunnel (Red Slope area) and the family raft ride ( very fun, not scary at all) .
It gets crowded in the afternoon, so if you want to go down those 2 large slides, go early. I didn't go down, too scary!!
We all got somewhat sunburned, despite sunscreen, but we stayed all day. Put on lots of sunscreen!!
Blizzard Beach is another water park of Disneyworld with a ski resort theme.
It has 3 giant slides/slopes, Cross country creek (continous flowing creek which runs through the entire park) and the chairlift which will bring you up on top of Mt. Gushmer for the slide of your life!
Tubes are available for single rider and for group/family. Just make sure you're brave enough to conquer your fear as you slide 120ft vertical free falling body slide at Summit Plummet.
Kiosks and merchandise are available within the park.
Only the Disney corporation could come up with the idea of a park based on a ski resort smack bang in the middle of Florida, but they did and it certainly works.
Blizzard Beach, Orlando is a water park based loosely around a ski resort packed with slides etc. based on a snow and ice theme.
According to the Walt Disney World Website: "Legend has it that a freak snowstorm resulted in Florida's first ski resort, but when temperatures rose, the Florida sun turned the ski runs into water slides"
Only Disney could come up with a line like that.
Please see my tavelogues for more information.
This is another place at Walt Disney World where you can spend a lot of time! Really, this is probably one of the best water parks! Actually, so is their other one! Anyway, this has a weird winter/summer theme. Basically, the 'story' is that it was supposed to be a skiing destination, but the snow all melted and now they turned it into a water park. ;) So, you'll se places like a ski lodge, for example. Anyway, lots of fun... lots of good water rides!
