    Budget Entertainment 1: Universal CityWalk

by virtualpatrick Updated Dec 15, 2009

Universal CityWalk - Nightly at Sunset (8:30p during summer, 6:30p during winter) - "Music of the Night" at the Harborside Piazza of the Portofino Bay Resort.

CityWalk parking after 6pm goes down to $3. Go to the CityWalk lagoon for the free complimentary resort boats and take the boat to Portifino Bay Resort. Nightly at Sunset (8:30p during summer, 6:30p during winter) - "Music of the Night" at the Harborside Piazza. From the Lobby's balcony, singers sing classical Italian opera songs and yes even some Disney showtunes. 30 minutes in duration.

The Portofino Bay Resort is one of the most elaborately themed resort around where visitors are whisked into being in Portofino, Italy.

Other budget entertainment alternatives - around the CityWalk Promenade on Fri & Sat evenings there is free live entertainment.

City Walk is part of Universal Studios wherein lots of restaurants, bars and shops can be found. Hard Rock Cafe is just around the corner. Live bands do play at night to entertain guests. So, if you're thinking on how to spend your night go and visit the Universal City Walk.

Universal CityWalk is Orlando’s hottest spot for dining and entertainment. It’s a 30-acre entertainment complex where you can experience the best of the best in live music, casual and fine dining, dancing, shopping, movies, and more. Offering everything from a night of family fun to a great place to hang out with friends to romantic fun for couples. Plenty to do here in the evenings. Bars, clubs, restaurants and cinema to keep you entertained. Citywalk has no charge for entrance, but individual venue cover charges apply.
You can take advantage of the CityWalk Part Pass for $9.95 inc tax which will let you hop around from venue to venue without being charged individual entrace fees. Plenty of nice places to dine and watch a movie at. Some of the really cool restaurants there are: Bob Marley - A Tribute to Freedom
    Pat O'Brien's Orlando
    Latin Quarter

Sounds good huh? Well get yourself over there if you're lucky enough to be staying in Orlando.

Citywalk is part of Universal Studios. It's an entertainment area outside the park gates. There's shopping and restaurants (we highly recommend Emeril's), night clubs and a large high-tech movie theater.

Downtown Orlando is about 23 miles from Walt Disney World Resort, 20 from Kissimmee, 15 from SeaWorld Orlando and 9 from Universal Studios Florida.
The downtown grid consists of an area roughly defined by South St to the south.
Robinson St to the west and Rosalind Ave to the east.
