The Orlando Science Center in Loch Haven Park is an excellent alternative to the usual theme parks in Orlando. The OSC itself is a huge 5 story building filled with fun exhibits, They even offer educational camps for locals.
Its open every Saturday and Friday night for all who want to experience a night under the stars and planets.
The newest exhibit is Touch the Sky where you can see full sized planes on display and try out flight simulators.

the orlando science center is an interesting and educational place to visit when in the orlando area. a great place to take children.
