Everyone has there favorites, and even though you no it's not real it still can scare the H..... out of you....
The Jaws ride was pretty cool and even though you new some things were going to happen it still makes you think.. and Jump...I was Lucky here as i had the camera pointed that way...
    Almost looks real..
The jaws ride is fun, only thingis that the wait was a long, as well with most if you don't hit the right time...

    The Scriptorium

The Holy Land Experience is very near Orlando. There are plenty of hotels close by in the area. For people who might enjoy visiting the Holy Land, this is a chance to spend a day in the sights and sounds of Israel while enjoying the comforts of Orlando, Florida.
They have restaurants at the park that serve food that is reflective of the Middle East.

    Fastpass = beat those queues!!

    A Disney Fastpass ticket

One of the best things about Disney is how the FastPass system can really work to your advantage.

Although getting to the parks early is always best if you want to avoid the crowds, it's always a good idea to have a quick look & the park map & plan which attractions you want to hit first - go & ride one, & get a fastpass for the other......so when you're busy on the first ride, you've still got a slot for another lined up - without having the queue along with everyone else, which takes up more of your day.

We'd always get a new fastpass as soon as we could - you usually have to wait 1 hour after getting 1 fastpass before you can get another, but it's definitely worth doing! All you do is insert your park pass into booths near busy attractions & you get a little ticket with a time when you can enter the fastpass queue, which is alot shorter than the regular line!

Disney have a free FP system - Universal did, but have now decided to go with the 'Express Plus' system - very similar, but you have to pay for the priviledge.

And parents - if you don't want to ride something, but your kids do....use all your tickets, so they can have more than one go :D

    SeaWorld and Aquatica

by SONG Updated Nov 15, 2010

I have not seen all the parks. I have NOT been to Universal, but I have heard other locals say that it is great. I have been to both SeaWorld and Aquatica. SeaWorld is fabulous and themed to anything related to the ocean. You can touch stingrays as they swim past you in a circular pool. You can walk through a glass tunnel , surrounded by sharks!
Orca whales put on a beautiful and awe=inspiring show several times a day.
Shamu is a beautiful whale and you would love the show. Any and all of the parks in Orlando contain beautiful landscape and are well groomed year round.
Aquatica is a water-themed park and anyone who is young=at=heart will love it.
I took my nieces and nephew and their friends there last summer and all of us
had a ball. Water slides of every size, shape, and color take you on a whirlwind ride . One pool has artificial waves which are generated every few minutes and you can ride the waves "to shore". Once you are in Aquatica, the life vests are free to use in the water sports. Slip one on and enjoy that particular event. When done, drop the vest on the ground for the next guest to use. One part of Aquatica even has a sand beach and you almost feel like you are at the ocean. Either of these two parks would be fun....especially if you are young at heart. Aquatica is more fun if you are willing to get wet and enjoy the water. Enjoy your trip to "the city Beautiful"....Orlando

    Hulk Rollercoaster

This is the best theme park in Orlando if not anywhere. All the rides are extremely brilliant! The 3D spiderman ride is awesome, we went on it about 6 times and never got bored! the Hulk ride (apparantly- i am too scaredy to go on it!) Is outta this world! I don want to give away too many secrets of the rides cos half the fun is finding out for yourself! Jurrassic park is a surprising stomach lurcher
And... the best ride DUELLING DRAGONS its fantastic, now I did go on this one but never managed to open my eyes - but it felt great!
Apparantly some guy lost his artificial leg on this ride, so make sure your stuff is secure befor going on!
This beats Disney and universal studios itself, dont miss out!
Theres also a Dr Seuss bit if you have any little ones.

If you're looking for rollercoasters then this is the place to go to. They are fabulous!

Whilst not strictly in Orlando, Bush Gardens is always seen as a place to visit whilst in Orlando. We took the hire car for the short one hour journey. This was our third theme park of the holiday.

I suddenly found out that I was rollercoaster junkie and was happy to get on the scariest rides imaginable. They trick to going on these rides is to ride with the ride. Enjoy being thrown about rather than being nervous about falling out!

The best ride had to be SheiKra. 200 feet up, 90 degrees straight down!

Then came Kumba which was brilliant for it's twist and turns. I'm not sure how many times it turned you upside down, but they do say that it gives you a sense of what it's like to be weightless.

Gwazi is a wooden rollercoaster, which actually is tow rollercoaster runnong on two different tracks. If they get the timing right it's like the two rides are heading towards each other!

We also had go on the Rhino Rally, which was fun. We were actually quite lucky in the queue to this ride. It had been shut for a couple of hours during the normal afternoon thunder storm and although a few hardy souls were still queuing through the rain we came along when the queue was small and the ride just opening up again!

There is more to Busch gardens than just rides though as they have some great animals and we especially enjoyed the elephants with their keepers.

  • What to do in Orlando 5 days

by touristips Written Jun 23, 2008

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

You'll have to decide which parks are best for you.
Info can be found on theme parks at tourist bureau site http://orlandotouristinformationbureau.com

There are 7 theme parks in Orlando 8 if you count Busch Gardens in Tampa.
    4 water parks.

I'ld go with Islands of Adventure & Universal since they have the most thrill rides.
They also have the best deal on tickets at http://usf.com

Consider a 1 day Disney hopper this will let you visit the best of Disney parks in a day.

Sea World Aquatica water park is brand new and very tropical.

  • Test Track

    by missmommy19 Updated Dec 15, 2011

    That

Test Track was awesome! The ride simulates that of a crash test dummy. You are the dummy and get strapped into a car and go through the different tests that an automobile goes through, steering, braking, heat, cold, etc. The best part is when the car starts to accelerate to the brick wall as if you were going to do a crash test, then the wall miraculously opens and you get flung outside. You then accelerate to 60 mph with a 50-degree bank, riding around the outside of the building. It's not a roller-coaster type of thrill, but going that fast is pretty cool. Get a fast pass, as the lines are long, or get there early.

    MGM Studios

by goingsolo Written May 16, 2005

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

MGM Studios is Disney Park #3. Before the opening of Universal Studios, this park was Disney's answer to the Universal theme park in Anaheim. Oddly enough, MGM Studios more resembles Universal in Anaheim than the Orlando version of Universal Studios.

The park has a tram tour which passes some of the sets used in movies and popular tv shows and has effects such as the stunt scene with fire and flooding. The Chinese Theatre experience is the best attraction in the park, again in my opinion. There is a roller coaster and the Tower of Terror Ride, which I went on mistakenly one time thinking it didn't actually free fall 50 feet. In case you're wondering, it does. That is also the entire purpose of the ride. So if you don't like the feeling of your stomach rising to the top of your chest, you may want to skip this one. There are also a couple of 3D movies and a simulated ride attraction in addition to some shows and the usual assortment of shops and restaurants.

This is a park worth visiting at least once. Its a toss up as to which is a better bet, MGM or Universal, if time allows you to choose only one. Since the theme parks sell most of their tickets in multi day passes these days, your best bet is to visit this one if you've purchased a multi day Disney pass.

    Hulk coaster

If you need to choose between Universal Studios or Island of Adventure, don’t be afraid and chose the second one…..They have two fantastic coasters there: Hulk and the Dragons one….it’s awesome!!!!!
If you only have one day, buy the combo ticket for the 2 parks….But go to the Island first!!!!!!

Rock 'n' Roller Coaster starring Aerosmith
    4 more images

This was our second theme park. We managed to take in most of the shows and rides on offer. Best show for me would have to be the Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme stunt show. This showed how the film makers went about their business and included plenty of high speed chases and stunts.

Best ride of the day would have to be the Rock 'n' Roller Coaster starring Aerosmith which sped off at an incredible 60 miles an hour. A great adrenalin rush. This is worth trying to do a couple of times if the queues aren't too long.

The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror came a close second. In this ride they put you in a lift and drop you up and down floors in the dark!

    Other Show Reviews

Muppet Vision 3D - Now this was really fun! You're in an inide theatre being entertained by kermit and his friendss. Fun for young and old alike.

Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular - A live show which was packed out. It was reasonable although it did look a bit dated.

Jedi Training Academy - Another one for the kids but if the adults hang about then there's always the appearance of Darth Vader to liven things up.

Beauty and the Beast - A live stage show full of characters from the Disney film. This one is strictly for the kids but it does give you a chance to get out of the heat and take a rest.

Gobble like a turkey for half price lunch!
One of the things that you must have a go at is the eating of the turkey legs from Toluca Legs Turkey Co. We went to buy two for lunch. At the counter we were asked if we would like one free. We of course said "yes okay". All we had to do was look into the cashiers camera and gobble like a turkey! Well we had to do it twice to convince him of our turkey worth. Great fun.

Disney was fun I went to all the Disney parks. January is the best time to go because there were no lines. I also went to Seaworld and Universal. Univeral is more for the rollercoaster enthusiast which I am not. Seaworld was great because of all its shows.

    Animal Kingdom

by goingsolo Written May 16, 2005

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

This is the fourth of the major Disney theme parks. I visited here only once, unfortunately in the summertime, which I would strongly advise against. Animal Kingdom is an interesting park to visit once, preferably in conjunction with some other parks.

Perhaps it was the heat, but there was little here that appealed to me. The dinosaur ride was interesting as were the exhibits. The water rapids ride was a welcome relief on a hot July day and much better than the boat cruise. The safari is one of the most popular attractions, but I didn't find it particularly fascinating. There is an impressive collection of wild animals, but even those imported from the warmest regions of Africa were not liking the Orlando heat too much. We did catch a show about insects, but I found it more creepy than entertaining.

After having visited all the other parks umpteen times as a child and a teenager, its possible that the theme park experiences have become repetitive to me which has likely influenced my opinion of this place. Still, I wouldn't recommend the Animal Kingdom to anyone with only one day to spend in the theme park region. Its worth a visit in the cooler months of the year, but only for about 3/4 of a day at most.

EPCOT - Let your imagination take over!

by HotRodEtte Written Jul 20, 2005

This is one of my favorite places to visit. My sister and I went last year; our first time in 10 years. It's funny, the majority of it has not changed but it's always a fun time. Technology, 3D, energy and dinosaurs are the themes of some of the different exhibits you can visit. Most rides are slow and are accommodating to all people. The best thing about this place is the way your imagination can carry you away.
