Universal Studios is one themepark one should not miss. As you enter the park, the famous big revolving logo will welcome you. The place is so nice especially for people like me who is not really much into wild rides! The 3d and 4d shows are really fun with moving chair, splashing water and tickling air effects. The set up of the whole park gives you the feeling of being in a movie scene. Walkways, shops and other displays looks so cinematically real :-)
Never miss the "Jaws" ride and be one of the MIB agents and fight the unwanted aliens.

    Note:
Check Universal Studios website for promos. When we purchased the tickets online they had the "Mastercard" promo wherein you can get 1 ticket free for a minimum of 4 pax (adult and child pay the same rate). The 2 days park ticket includes 3 more days free, access to citywalk and pleasure island.

    Men In Black Alien Attack

Universal Studios is a theme park that pays homage to some popular movies and characters. The rides vary from 3-d theatre attractions to a high speed adaventure with Mummies. It's a park that's easy to do in a day if you stay on Universal Property. Your room key from one of the hotels (ours was the Hardrock) gets you in front of the lines. This made it easy to see some of the more popular attractions such as Shrek 4-D, Twister, Revenge of the Mummy, Jaws, MIB, E.T., Disaster and Terminator 2 3-D. We really enjoyed Shrek 4D, Twister, Terminator and the Mummy. Jaws was a bit lame and predictable and E.T. was geared more towards little kids.

Universal is definitely a different experience from Disney. There is no "Disney" type experience with overly friendly staff and impeccable service. The rides are great but the staff reminds me of Six Flags in New Jersey. Just going into Universal not expecting Disney service and you'll be just fine.

    Men In Black...Alien Attack

Men In Black Alien Attack is one of the rides in Universal Studios that one shouldn't miss. You will be riding ina 6 seater cart armed with laser guns. As you enter the world of aliens, you should kill the unwanted creatures that will pop out along your way. Designed with special effects like lighting, smoke machine and laser, one can trully feel you're inside the alien world. The ride can be a little bit dizzy as the cart swirl around but it was tolerable. At the end of the ride, you can view how many aliens you killed. Just go to the souvenir shop at the exit.

    Note
Bags and other carry on luggage should be left in the lockers. Lockers are free for a period of one hour. In excess to that, an additional fee will be charged.

Universal Studios - Fun and adventure

    Gateway to adventure

Similar to Universal Studios in Los Angeles this is a great way to spend a day simply enjoying yourself.
There are similar rides to those in LA with a few extras. There is the Jaws experience as well as the Twister ride, that add a little variety, along with the King Kong thrill ride.
    A must see!

If you are visiting Universal / Islands of Adventure during one of the busy periods consider staying at one of the 3 on site hotels.

What we didn't realise was that you can check in very early on your first day (9am in our case!) and get your room key (even though they won't tell you the room number if the room is not ready!). You then leave your bags with the bell staff and go into the park using your key as an unlimited Universal Express (Fast Pass) on all the popular rides. Your key is also valid on the day you check out all day. So once again we left our bags and spent the day in the parks before heading to the airport.

Please note that you still need to buy your park tickets!

P.S. I did feel a little guilty about going on some rides 3 times in less than 1 hour when the main line was over 2 hours long!

P.P.S. The new Mummy ride at Universal is AWESOME. This sets the new standards for in the dark roller coasters!

    spider man lines

For me, I think Spider man is the best ride in the park. I love the 3-D effects and how real it all feels. Everyone loved this ride and it's even o.k for younger kids...Lots of action and turns an twists, be ready for for spider man...
Lines were very long , express the way to go

A must do. Once you do the King Kong ride, have you picture taken with Kong. It's at the exit of the ride.

Back to future ride is pretty cool.

Get a good seat for the Blues Brothers show!!!

    And we all Love Lucy!!!

What to see in Universal Studios

Some of the best attractions for relieving star-envy include Terminator 2: 3D, a spectacular 3D simulator experience where you get to be Arnold; Back to the Future, which has phenomenal special effects; and Earthquake - The Big One, which is so dynamite it hits 8.3 on the Richter scale. Popular shows include the Animal Actors, Dynamite Nights Stuntacular, Ghostbusters and the Gory Gruesome & Grotesque Horror Makeup Show. The Hitchcock 3D Theater is a tribute to the master of suspense.

    Universal globe

The whole park is just amazing! Even though we went in July. It's just a great family holiday. If you are planning to go to a few parks or even universal studios a few times because you want to see it all make sure you leave a few days in between to relax. For e.g. Mon- park , tue-sit by pool etc.
It's a lot of walking around so be prepared to take water and you can even buy a universal studios fan...i would highly recommend. They cost between 10-15 $US.
