Big Thunder Mountain Railroad by Lynsey-Jane The other of the 2 mountain rides in Frontierland is Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Board a train through the mountains for "the wildest ride in the wilderness". The rollercoaster style ride takes you around the mountain at speed. Look out for the goats, donkeys and the saloon. Snow White by Lynsey-Jane There are some brilliant rides in Fantasyland. These include: The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh - Take a ride in a hunnypot through a Winnie the Pooh Story. When you meet Tigger, your hunnypot bounces in line with his story! Dumbo - A meeri-go-round ride inside Dumbo (This is more for the younger visitors). Mad Tea Party - This is a spinning ride in a tea cup - do not go on straight after a meal. Snow Whites Scary Adventure - Follow the Seven Dwarves down the mine for the story of Snow White. Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin by Lynsey-Jane There are some other excellent rides in Tomorrowland: The Extra-Terrorestrial Alien Encounter - This ride is TERRIFYING. You are strapped into your seat so that you cannot move (or escape, which is what I wanted to do), then a scary monstrous alien is unleashed in the room and you do not know where he will go ... then you feel his breath on the back of your neck... Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin - This is like being inside a computer game, where you have to shoot at things and score points. Indy Speedway - Drive race cars around a track. This ride is great fun. Leave a Comment

Pirates of the Carribean by Lynsey-Jane Walk round to the left when you leave Main Street USA, and you will come to Adventureland, the home of some brilliant attractions. The main attraction in Adventureland is Pirates of the Carribean. You board a small boat and ride throuh various pirate scenes - past a pirate ship, a pirate raid on a carribean island, all to the tune of Yo Ho, Yo Ho, a Pirate's Life for me. It's great fun. EPCOT hosts an International Food & Wine Festival every year and we happened to be visiting during the last weekend of the 2006 festival (September 29-November 12, 2006). Even though there are only 11 countries represented at EPCOT's permanent exhibits, there were 26 different booths from over 20 countries plus beer, wine and champagne booths. Make sure you pace yourself or share with your friends, by the time we got about 3/4 of the way around we were stuffed and I had to pass up the tasty offerings at the Argentina and Florida Shrimp booths. But we did stop in Canada, France, Poland, Morocco and Scandanavia before calling it quits for the day. You can check the menus online before you go or pick up one of the brochures when you arrive to help plot out the culinary offerings you want to indulge in. The portions are taster portions and there wasn't anything that I thought was a real "value" but most of what we tried was very good. There's also a lot more to the Festival-concerts, cooking demonstrations, wine seminars and special five course dining experiences. Leave a Comment

Patrick is now officially addicted to roller coasters. We waited online for this ride for a little over an hour and we are so glad that we did. While you are waiting online you are treated to a variety of art work, including pictures and masks, native to the land of the Yeti. They even have a display of the evidence supporting the existence of the infamous best complete with photos and tales from native peoples. I really liked the display of masks that was there. When you finally get to board the coaster car, you are treated to forwards and backwards thrills with both complete darkness and light. I have to admit that the Yeti portion of the ride is actually stupid. Patrick loved the ride and wanted to wait another hour to ride it again, but it was just to gosh darn hot and I was starving. This would be a great time for ticket holders to use the fast pass option. Address: Disney-Animal KingdomDirections: Walt Disney World, Orlando, Florida

Adventureland in Magic Kingdom by Lynsey-Jane As well as Pirates and Jungle Cruise, there are other great attractions in Adventureland, including: The Tikki Room - Enter a room where you will be serenaded by all of the birds and flowers you could imagine. Iago and Zazu are "managers" of the Tikki Room, which makes for an entertaining show. Swiss Family Treehouse - Take a walk through a replica of the famous treehouse. The Magic Carpets of Aladdin - Fly through the air in one of 16 magic carpets (rather like a merri-go-round with a Disney theme). Leave a Comment

Cinderella's Golden Carrousel by Lynsey-Jane This golden carrousel was built in 1917 and was restored by Disney. Located behind Cinderella's Castle, it is a wonderful old fashioned ride. This picture of me on the carrousel was taken on one of Disney's Haloween nights in the pouring rain, which is why I am wearing the mac! Leave a Comment

Typhoon Lagoon is one of the two Disney Waterparks. It has a tropical feel to the park with plenty of greenery and trees. The main attraction of the park is the Surf Pol. It's very large and a big wave is generated every 90 seconds. The wave is very gentle at the shallow end but more intense as you get deeper in the water. They have a bunch of tube rides and slides : Keelhaul Falls, Gang Plank Falls, Humunga-Kowabunga and Crush n Gusher. There is also a Shark reef experience where you can snorkel in the pool and watch the creatures of the tank (if you want a linger 30 minute experience than there is an additional $20 fee). Our favorite part of Typhoon Lagoon is Castaway Creek. Grab an inner tube for one or two people and hop on in the lazy river. There are many entrance and exit points along the river to hop in or out of the water. It was so relaxing to lay in the tube and float down the river while passing some nice trees and flowers. It wasn't very crowded that day since it was a weekday and at one pont we were the only people in that section of the river. Time seemed to stand still while we floated that we didn't realize we were in the river for over an hour and quite pruned from the water. Locker rentals are available at the park at the High 'n Dry Towels. It is $5 for a small size and $7 for a larger size. $2 is refunded when you turn your key back in. We took a small locker since we didn't bring much except a wallet, towels and our park passes. If you forget to bring a towel, you can rent one for $2. I was looking forward to Epcot, alas was disappointed mainly because Epcot is more for the big kids than the little kids. To really enjoy Epcot you need to be able to stop and watch the street performers, look through the displays and interact with the area you are in. Some of the things we did in Epcot include visiting Mexico and going on the boat ride in the pyramid, riding test track, going on a Viking voyage, went on an undersea voyage in a clam-mobile and ate lots of good food. Richie and I have decided that we will go back to Epcot to do some shopping and tour around without the little ones. Address: EpcotDirections: Walt Disney World, Orlando, Florida
