    Monorail

The monorail is a fun way to get around from the Magic Kingdom to Epcot or from The contemporary, Grand Floridian or Polynesian resorts. It's not a super fast ride but it does provide a good view of the resorts and the lagoon.

    Disney Monorail

Walt Disney World monorail has been in operation since 1971. A double beam track circles the Seven Seas Lagoon in front of the Magic Kingdom.

Originally connecting the Contemporary and Polynesian hotels with the Magic Kingdom and Transportation and Ticket Center, the Grand Floridian was since been added to the loop.

Disney expanded the monorail system in 1982 and added a four mile extension which takes users from the Magic Kingdom resort area to Epcot's entrance.

The monorail is free to use for all residents.

The Monorail at Walt Disney World is the fastest and most enjoyable way to get around the parks. There are a couble of different routes serving all of Disneys theme parks and parking areas. They are color coded. Additional information on them can be seen on Disneys own website, or of course, once you are there.

The monorail in this picture services the Magic kingdom and its parking area.

By Plane, Car, Train, Bus or Even Space Shuttle. Anyway is good to get there.
At Disney World the best way and funnest is the Monorail. Kids that are luck enough to sit with the Driver get a complimentary Drivers Licence and told they now are able to drive the Monorail.Disney has Busses and Boats and Trams. They are all good but there can we a long wait on a busy day.

I wanted to experience the monorail so I persuaded my husband and some of the other family members to take a spin on it. My husband and I went from one of the big hotels to another one for dinner on the monorail.

Fly into Orlando, it's your best bet (and they have a very nice, clean airport too)... then all you have to do is pretty much get on the expressway because there are signs everywhere pointing you to Walt Disney World.
Inside the parks, you have to just walk around. However, Disney World as a whole is huge, and to transport you between places is the monorail. This is a pretty neat thing to ride, and it'll take you between Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Polynesian Resort, Contemporary Resort, and the Grand Floridian Resort. Also available is bus, which makes regular stops on its routes throughgout the park. You can also drive, I suppose. There may be a main parking area. We've always stayed inside the park, so we just use the bus.

    monorail: Contemporary Resort Hotel

This is the only hotel I know of through which a monorail runs. (It runs by and stops at the Polynesian Village Resort Hotel, but slap through this one.) It makes it very convenient to get to and from the park. In the heat of the day, we would come back to the hotel, have a light lunch, and maybe go to the pool or beach by the lagoon before we would take supper and go to the park for the rest of the evening.

    Internal disney transport system: Monorail

Walt Disney World's transportation is one of the things that make a vacation at WDW so carefree, relaxing, and magical. Simply put, Walt Disney World's transportation network is among the most efficient, easy to use, and convenient of any mass transit system in the world. The system includes the famous Disney monorail, as well as busses and watercraft, to move guests from resort hotel to park and back, park to park, and from any other location to another within the 30,000+ acres of the complex. The vehicles are always clean, loading and unloading of passengers is simple and well-thought-out, and the wait for transportation (except during the very busiest of times) is minimal. It's hard to over-emphasize the convenience of the internal transportation.
