Most of the visitors to Palm Beach are probably going to arrive by air. Palm Beach International airport is the most convenient choice for travel to Palm Beach. Fort Lauderdale and Miami airports are other alternatives. There is a commuter train service called Tri-Rail between West Palm Beach and Miami. Travelers arriving at the Miami or Fort Lauderdale airports can use this service to get to Palm Beach. Other alternative transports to get to Palm Beach are Greyhound buses or Amtrak trains from elsewhere in the US. You can of course also drive from elsewhere in the US if you have a rental car and a lot of patience to drive the long distance. When you arrive to Palm Beach then a rental car is the best way to get around like in most places in the US. Air
Palm Beach International Airport (PBIA) is the major airport serving Palm Beach County. It is located 3 miles southwest of the West Palm Beach central Business District and is easily accessible from I-95. PBIA is one of the largest medium hub airports in the United States with a total of 24 airlines serving the airport. About 205 flights arrive and depart daily from PBIA with more than 5.8 million passengers going through the airport each year.
In addition, PBIA offers many other services including Customs Port of Entry, Immigration, private aircraft maintenance, air cargo and international air. For general airport information, call 471-7420, or http://www.pbia.org. There are also three local executive airports serving the Palm Beaches.

Boca Raton Airport - A 5,200-foot runway in South Palm Beach County with easy access to I-95.

North County Airport - A 4,300-foot runway in the northwest section of Palm Beach County.
Bus
Palm Tran, a countywide bus system, runs from Boca Raton to Palm Beach Gardens and into the Western Communities and the Glades. These clean, attractive pink and aqua colored buses provide residents and visitors with an affordable mode of transportation. Palm Tran’s downtown Shuttle Loop System offers convenient, free transportation between office buildings, restaurants, businesses and parking facilities located within downtown West Palm Beach. The shuttle runs Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. along Clematis Street. Palm Tran makes numerous stops in downtown West Palm Beach with a vehicle scheduled to stop every 10 minutes. Greyhound/Trailways
The Greyhound terminal in West Palm Beach is located in the Seaboard Train Station at 201 South Tamarind Avenue. The station provides convenient access to passengers and easy connection with other modes of travel, including Amtrak, local public transit and Tri-Rail.
Greyhound offers approximately 25 schedules a day to destinations such as Orlando, New York City, Atlanta and other cities nationwide.
Greyhound is the only nationwide provider of inter-city bus transportation, serving more than 2,600 destinations with 18,000 daily departures. Rail
Several options are available for those who would like to take in some scenic sights of Palm Beach County by rail. Amtrak offers a comfortable ride on modern trains. Amtrak departs from the historic railroad station at 201 S. Tamarind Avenue, in downtown West Palm Beach, to a multitude of destinations throughout the United States. CSX Freight Lines and FEC, provide daily service to the Palm Beaches. CSX Freight Lines and FEC were Palm Beach County’s first method of mass transportation. South Florida developer Henry Flagler built the rail tracks at the turn of the century to deliver goods to the area and to bring homesteaders to work and become residents. FEC is Florida’s East Coast Railroad system.
Tr-County Commuter Rail Authority (Tri-Rail) serves Palm Beach, Dade and Broward counties with north and south bound train service seven days a week. The trains make 18 stops between Mangonia Park and Miami. Tri-Rail stations are served by dedicated shuttle buses, interconnecting county transit buses or Metrorail.
Tri-Rail is an enjoyable way to travel to many popular attractions and destinations in all three counties.
In addition to providing a commuter rail system, Tri-Rail offers service to all three county airports and supplies service to many special events, such as the Superbowl and the Coconut Grove Art Festival. Roads
There are several major highways that provide direct access through the Palm Beaches. The Florida Turnpike, U.S. Highway 1, Military Trail, State Road 7 and I-95 are heavily traveled, especially during peak traffic hours morning and evening.
Water
The Port of Palm Beach ranks fourth among Florida’s deep water ports in container import and export activity. Docking facilities include 25 berths along 5,160 feet of bulkheading, two slips, four wharves and six Ro/Ro ramps. Storage includes nearly 200,000 square-feet of warehouse space for bulk and breakbulk cargoes, along with 43 acres of open storage and a 100,000 square-foot cold storage warehouse. The Flagler Museum on the Palm Beach island is a good starting point for any visit to Palm Beach. The whole history of Palm Beach is associated with this site. It is also a magnificent building. The Versailles palace in France was an inspiration, when the house was built. It is still the mother of all Palm Beach mansions. Whitehall was a 60,000 square feet house with almost 60 bedrooms. Many visitors come to South Florida to enjoy the warm weather and the beaches of the Atlantic Ocean. The coastline of the whole Palm Beach county is filled with beautiful beaches. If you want to choose one then perhaps the beach in Delray Beach is a good choice. There is enough to see and experience in Palm Beach county alone for a life time. Despite of this you might still be interested to visit also neighouring areas like Miami, Fort Lauderdale, the Florida Keys, the Florida west coast area (Naples), the Orlando area and the Kennedy Space Center. Palm Beach is centrally located, so you can easily access any other location in South or Central Florida during a day tour. Also the Grand Bahama island is only 60 miles east of West Palm Beach. The Palm Beach Princess offers gambling cruises leaving from the Palm Beach port in Riviera Beach. Lake Okeechobee is a popular fishing destination for South Floridians and the lake area offers beautiful sceneries.
