While in PCB, during mid-day, driving by car, you will want that air conditioner full blast.
In July: In the morning before 10am or the evening after 7 or 8pm, you might enjoy walking to where you need to go, if you are on Front Beach Rd.
They have motorbike rentals, which can be fun to do anytime of the day. You will see a lot of friends in groups riding motorbikes and scooters.
If you go for a walk during the day time, be sure to put on your sunscreen in the motel room before stepping out of your room.

Right now, I would have to fly out there, because I live in Colorado. I just looked it up on the Internet to get a refresher of what the road numbers were, and it looks like they have made some changes to the roads. It shows 353 miles from Dalton, GA. With a avg speed of 52mph, you can get there in just under 7 hours. Just for your own convienence, you may want to plan a route to better serve you. I can say that if you are planning on going through northern Alabama, make sure you fill up on gas before you get to Alabama, and try not to fill up until you are in southern Alabama. I'm not kidding. If for some reason you have to fill up in northern Alabama, make sure you do so in a huge city, and not a small town off the interstate. You might find yourself feeling a little uncomfortable.

If you decide to fly, you can take a plane to Panama City airport or Okalusa airport.
It was strange to see that people in Panama City Beach all go by cars. Tourists use bycicles (not many) and very few go on foot.

By car. It's the closest beach to most of the southeast.
If you have to fly take this tip: fly into Tallahassee or Pensacola airports..they're a lot cheaper than the Panama City Airport. Rent and return your car from these locations. They're only an hour or so from PCB.
By car. Taxi's are not too pricey and there is a limo service that will take up to 6 people to anywhere on the beach for a flat $10.00.

I love to drive there, because you get to see everything instead of just flying over it. The driving gets tiring after awhile but it's great to be able to see so much of the United States
I drove around, but i would have to say the best way would be to walk or ride a motorcycle. It's just to crowded to say that driving is the best, but the Air Conditioning is a plus.

Panama City and the beach are easy to find. To get the beach, turn right onto 23rd Street and head straight to Route 98 where you take right. Go over the Hathaway Bridge and bear left onto Thomas or Front Beach Road. Both will take you to water, but Thomas will take you to St.Andrew's which charges $4 to enter. You'll enjoy the propical paradise, guaranted!
