    Sun Screen

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: The most important thing to pack other than clothes is sun screen. If you are not used to being out in the sun and head out to the beach, please use a high spf sun screen. Too many people end up lying in bed due to a bad sunburn rather than having a good time. I know, because I have been there. Even those of us living here make that mistake. You don't want to ruin your vacation so please use sun screen.
Pack light clothes in the Summer and in the Winter you usually only need a light jacket. However, it can get cold in January and February. Due to the moisture in the air here it feels colder than the temperature indicates.

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: If you get a sunburn, Aloe helps take the sting out , I like to use noxzema cold cream. It makes your skin feel cooler.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: I assume most people will be visiting in the Spring through Fall, so bring loose fitting clothes in the summer, short pants and short sleeve shirts, sandals or sneakers, something comfortable to walk in. Also the sun walking across the dry sand gets very hot to the bare feet and walking across the sand dunes, there are stickers that will attach themselves to your feet by the dozens. These are very painful. If you are walking along the waters edge, then barefoot is so refreshing in the summer. I would suggest a hat or baseball cap to protect your head, definitely sunglasses, as the reflection off the white beaches and water are blinding without them, and SUN SCREEN!~!!!! I can not tell you how many times I see people at the end of the day with SEVERE sunburns, especially on cloudy days. In the early spring before the middle of May or after the middle of October, bring a light jacket, as it gets cool at night, with the ocean breeze cooling things down pretty fast.

    Toiletries and Medical Supplies: S U N S C R E E N ! ! ! ! !

Photo Equipment: Just bring your camer and film. There is no problem finding more film, batteries, etc.

Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: I would bring a beach umbrella and some lounge chairs. You can rent them at some hotels but why? If you are on a deserted portion of the beach (is this possible?...lol) then it is nice to be able to sit in the shade between sun bathing and feel the cool breeze.

Luggage and bags: Let's one thing straight: the sun burns very hot here.
So don't forget your suncream, use a very high protection factor, and remember to re-apply after swimming.
