The Punta Gorda Chamber of Commerce and the Historical Society both reside inside what is the most historic residence in town, the A.C. Freeman House, also known as the Gilchrist House. Located quite near the foot of the bridge leading to Port Charlotte, it is also near Gilchrist Park and the old Main Street downtown. Built in 1903, this is Charlotte County's only Victorian house. House tours are available from 8-5pm.

Punta Gorda was settled in the late 1800's. There is a wonderful old town area with some gorgeous old houses perched in the shade of their beautiful mature trees . Its nice to park the car and take a stroll in this charming area.

We enjoyed the music at Fisherman's Village. In the center of the complex is a stage and they had a pretty good lineup playing most of Sunday afternoon.
