Jack's Restaurant: A locals' favorite in Punta Gorda
As we were visiting the A.C. Freeman House in Punta Gorda, our guide asked if we needed restaurant recommendations and one of the places he said was very popular with locals was Jack's, so we decided to give it a try. I can't say I was too crazy about the atmosphere of the place - this family restaurant has a huge, slightly outdated dining room that doesn't do much in the way of conveying any special type of ambience. The food, however, was pretty good. I ordered the turkey & artichoke sandwich, which was served with a nice fruit salad, and really enjoyed it. Also, even though I'm not too keen on seafood, I tried one of the bang-bang shrimps Sylvain had ordered as an appetizer and it was actually really tasty! So I guess I can understand why locals would like this place since it offers an interesting selection of tasty dishes at a very reasonable price.
