If you don't know about this place, you'll drive by and never eat here. No atmosphere, below average service, limited menu (one item), no dining area, and questionable hygiene. Best damn sandwich you'll ever eat. I now live nine hours away, and consider making the drive every weekend. I've never been hooked on crack, but I know that Marian's is addictive. If you're on US 41 through Ruskin, you have to try it.
Favorite Dish: They only make one sandwich. I get mine with extra meat and cheese. Amazing.
This can be and is a lively place. Lunch can be a quite affair and dinners can get lively when the entertainmemt starts. It has a bar area with stools and tables, a beautiful dining area (can get very loud with the hardwood floors) a porch area for dining, and a outdoor bar and entertainment.
Favorite Dish: We were there a few days ago and tried just two of the many items on the menu. Lunches were served with a good salad and a loaf of hot bread. We tried the Ginger-Lemon Tuna over a bed of rice and string beans for a vegetable. It will become one of my favorites.
It's a family owned and supplied fast lunch type of restaurant. Place your order and sit with the regulars at the picnic tables. Very friendly, sodas and water, no booze.
Favorite Dish: Everything is either fried or broiled, but the fried grouper sandwich is well worth the price.
A large restaurant with a limited menu but with a superb salad bar and buffet. Fridays they have their usual Seafood buffet that is great. Crab legs, mussels, etc. etc. The Seafood buffet is around seventeen dollars but the regular buffet with roast beef, ham, etc. is more reasonably priced. Some area buffets will run twice this amount.
Favorite Dish: I usually end up having a least two bowls of their soup of the day. Next would have to be the fish of the day. The salad bar makes a trip or two a necessity.
A typical Irish Pub that is fairly new in town. It has the standard Irish Stew, Bangers and Mash, Shepherds Pie, etc. etc. They carry a fairly good selection of beers both on draft and in the bottle. Service is very good.
Favorite Dish: The Big Dog. This is a big Irish sausage dog that is served with plenty of onions and peppers. Much better than the Fish and Chips that they tend to overcook.
Favorite Dish: Here's the other dish we tried. Spaghetti with Shrimp, mushrooms, and a Cajun cream sauce. Delicious. Large enough for a take home box.
