Update: sadly, McKnight's has closed. A true shame.
McKnight's is my type of pub. Run by a great guy named Roy, We had as much fun when it was packed as we did when there were only 4 people in the place. They have a pony contest for anyone interested.
Much of the VT crew that visited St. Augustine are huge McKnight's fans, and for good reason. It's a very cozy Irish pub, conveniently located right downtown. The Irish music is good and not too loud, so you can have a conversation. It's a beer and wine bar, and they'll draw you a good pint. Or two. There's also a "pub grub" menu - bring the family for a bite to eat, the food is real good. And yes, they do serve ice cream too. The service is very friendly. And, the owner is opening a new restaurant/pub very soon, on the other side of the bridge from downtown.
What a terrific place to hang out. Next time I'm in St. Augustine, I'll be sure to go back
Dress Code: McKnight's is very casual, so come as you are.
Hey, did I mention they offer pony races? For grown-ups only, not for the kids. And one of our wonderful VTers won it once...woohoo!!!!
