One Man Band was good! Service was OK. Food was good! Beware though, your tip is included even though the check has the total (including tip) on the "pre-tip" line of the receipt. Waitress almost got a 37% tip!! We did have a party of 8 but it still should NOT be listed as a "pre-tip total".
Awesome place with great atmosphere. The band the night I was there was medicore, but had great energy and kept the crowd happy and well into the music. Food was better then average bar food with some great highend bar choices.
only planned on having one beer and leaving, and ended up staying there for about 3 hours.
Favorite Dish:
Eggplant munchables were great
It was hot. Jungle hot. I visited with a buddy on 8/5/07, and we were sweating bad. There was a horrible acoustic guitar/vocalist "performing", and that made it even worse. Service was indifferent, which I can understand, since it was so hot. My beer was warm in less than a minute. Not a good experience. It does have a good view, and I bet it would be a lot better in the fall.
Favorite Dish:
Didn't eat anything.
The Mill Top Tavern is easy to spot from St. George Street because it has a giant, fake water wheel turning on the side of it. The entrance to the restaurant is actually on Castillo Drive though, across from the Castillo San Marco. The atmosphere here is very bar-like and might not be the greatest place for kids. The food was ok, mostly sandwiches, but I think the real reason people come here is to drink. The atmosphere is pretty, though, with tables set up on a series of wooden decks overlooking the water.
The Mill Top Tavern is favorite by the tourists and locals. The building is over 115 years old and still stands strong. The mill Top Tavern has live music every day. This cool little hangout is all about the atmosphere. With its open-air deck seating, you can enjoy an excellent view of the surrounding area. You can watch the pedestrians on George Street or enjoy the view of the Castillo. The outside area is small and is also the smoking area. I like this place, because it’s upstairs and you can feel the breeze through your hair. We didn’t have lunch here, but the beer tasted good!
