This place is kind of set back from the main drag of St. George Street, but the smell of fresh bread and cookies baking is enough to draw you in...it's inexpensive and a great stop if you're hungry while walking along St. George.
Favorite Dish: We all had the picadillo combo , it came with fresh baked bread and a cookie and I enjoyed it thoroughly.
Old town Saint Augustine is full of little nooks and crannies to explore. Katmo took us to one for lunch, The Spanish Bakery. What a great treat! There is not much to this place, but they do it right and seem to have a constant flow of people, but it never seemed overcrowded. It is basically and open air shack with a short menu os imenadas and other Spanish foods. The combos include a main entree, bread (delicious) a drink and a cookie (even more delicious) for $5! you then bring your tray out to one of the many picnic tables outside and enjoy your meal. There is a shed next door where all the food is prepared and they are constantly bringing new breads and foods into the main area.
Favorite Dish: I had a type of chili with no beans served over rice and got an almond cookie on the side.
