Well, why not have a wax musuem in the middle of a historical city.. Makes perfect sense!

If you build it, they will come..

Anyway, if this is your thing the museum is located

    On the Historic plaza:
    17 King Street
    904.829.9056

It's got 7 themed galleries and 160 famous figures.

Unique Suggestions: See if there are coupons available at the Visitor Center... I don't think the museum gives discounts though.

Ripley's Believe it or not ...

As every good city has one... Here as well you will find a Ripley's. I loved going here as a teenager at night because there was no body else in the place and it got kind of spooky. It helped that locals get reduced rates as well. I'm not sure I'd pay the full price of admission now.

    19 San Marco Ave.

Unique Suggestions: If you go make sure you go to the visitor center across the street. They have brochures were you can get a coupon off admission. Every little bit helps...

    The Wax Museum

I'm not saying you won't enjoy the Wax Museum, I just listed it under 'tourist trap' because it has little to do with St. Augustine history.

Unique Suggestions: Pay your $8, and see over 140 wax sculptures of historic and cultural celebrities. The negative thing is that you can't stand directly next to them to have photographs taken.

They'll lure you into believing that this is how the entire museum is, by leaving one statue at the entrance for you to pose next to. Once inside, they're inaccesible, unless you're a very bad person and cross over the divider for a photo.
