Tangelo's has an extensive Cuban Sandwich menu, with the original (Roast pork, ham, mayo, mustard, swiss cheese, pickles, on pressed cuban bread) as well as varieties, i.e. chicken cubans, grouper cubans.
Their lunch specials are always a great deal; the cuban of the day as well as side dishes and soup for 6-7 dollars.

It's family owned, so yes actual Greeks work there. The food is wonderful, and you can even check out their bakery selection for dessert if you're not stuffed.
This is a good place to take a family or go on a hot date.
I'd say, stick to the greek specialties or any of their seafood. Don't go order fried shrimp baskets. Yes, I'm actually related to people who go to a Greek restaurant to eat shrimp baskets. I spent my New Year's Eve here, much to my dismay originally, but I must admit it turned out to be a memorable night after all. The problem is that we ran between about 10 different restaurants before settling at this one about an hour from midnight, and we were all cranky and bickering with each other. The tasty food certainly shut us up.

Daytime is so nice because you can enjoy your meal and watch the boats on Tampa Bay and the planes taking off from Albert Whitted airport as well as the pelicans and other seabirds.
Lunch prices from $6 to $12.
Dinner prices from $12 to $24.

Sunday - Thursday (11 a.m. - 10 p.m.)
Friday - Saturday (11 a.m. - 11 p.m.)

Everything is good here, but if you are not sure what to get, the chicken and yellow is always a winner, as is the boliche (beef, eye of round cut). Pictured here is the lunch portion of half a Cuban sandwich and a half srving of the Columbia's famous "1905" salad.
Nothing can compare to the truly wonderful hot, fresh Cuban bread - a crusty outside with wonderful soft, melt in your mouth flavor that is enhanced by the butter. A Columbia tradition, that is served with your meal. Leave a Comment
