Apricot Wheat Ale by arasnosliw The award winning Dunedin Brewery is home to some good tasting local brews. This is a Scottish-settled town north of St. Petersburg. The brewery produces several types of oh-so-mouthwatering potent concoctions: Pipers Pale Ale (voted best in Florida), Apricot Wheat Ale, Celtic Gold Ale, Beachtale Brown Ale, Redhead Red Ale, and Leonard Croon's Old Mean Stout. When the season's right, try some Oktoberfest Beer or Christmas Farm Ale. The brewery is located on the Main Street in Dunedin, a quaint historic area with many wonderful shops. There is a Scottish Pub at the brewery with live music to drink and dine at. My taste buds are salivating while dreaming of an apricot ale. One-in-all type of place by arasnosliw "The Pier" in St. Petersburg is home to a variety of shops, restaurants, an aquarium, and concerts. It's a great place to take the entire family, and even at night the bars are brewing with people. The half mile long wharf dwindles down to this upside-down triangle shaped yellow building. One of the many restaurants here is Columbia Restaurant, a branch of the original in Ybor City (Tampa), that serves delicious traditional Spanish/Cuban cuisine. You can rent bikes, segways here or sign up to go on a boat tour of Tampa Bay. The pier even hosts an art and design center. There's something interesting for all tastes at the Pier, so it's a good bet if you're traveling with others and can't decide upon one activity in particular. enjoying Caladesi Island by arasnosliw This island is off the coast, nearby Dunedin. The beach on Caladesi is world-renowned, and is consistently ranked as one of the best in the US. This beach is never crowded. In order to reach it, you have to take a ferry from Honeymoon Island in Dunedin. It is a great place to relax in white sand and enjoy tranquility. There are also 3 miles of hiking trails and a 108-slip marina on the island. Leave a Comment

The World's Largest Collection of his Works... by NC_Ziggy The world renowned Spanish impressionist, Salvador Dali, has found a home to his largest collections of oil, watercolor, and sculptures in St. Petersburg! I'm quite sure the sunshine and climate would be most accomodating to him and it certainly serves his legacy well in this spacious and dramatic venue for his many works! You will be amazed at the talent of this Master! Leave a Comment

train tracks welcoming you to downtown by arasnosliw Safety Harbor is located in northeastern Pinellas county, on the northwest corner of Old Tampa Bay. Just a bit north of the St. Pete's-Clearwater Airport on 611, Safety Harbor embodies a small town feel with a charming downtown district full of Ma & Pa shops and restaurants. The waterfront is just steps away from downtown, and the narrow streets are always full of people jogging and walking their dogs. Leave a Comment

Inverted Pyramid Architecture by NC_Ziggy The Pier has a long and lasting presence in St. Petersburg and I personally find it in its present state a most unique visual and enduring part of this city. It began its life in 1899 and after construction of the beloved Million Dollar Pier in 1926, it has come to symbolize both a historical remembrance and a view to the future. Upon my early arrival here, I drove around the city and found my way to this remarkable place! The Pier is a 5 story structure with numerous specialty stores, galleries, boutiques, and various eateries! But it is also functional as you may think a pier to be, educational, and entertaining as you will see! Leave a Comment

My boat is the 15th one, middle... Right!!! by NC_Ziggy The Pier is not only a sight to behold for its visual qualities as it also is a place of educational value. It is home to an aquarium with many opportunities to learn more about the aquatic life in the surrounding area. There is also an "Education Station" upon the entrance to The Pier that provides a monthly calendar of events and activities. Access the Event Hotline by calling 727-821-6443, extention 17. Evening Stroll Anyone? by NC_Ziggy Can you imagine what a lovely place this might be to stroll along the half-mile length of the pier hand-in-hand with the ONE you Love... soaking in the visual charms of the ocean, the city of St. Petersburg, the sun or moon casting light and shadows while the warm breeze brings the aroma of the salty waters to your senses. Can you imagine? For the romantic and dancing inclined, there are various opportunities for Salsa and music, cocktails with a view, and intimate meals. Are you here yet? :-) Leave a Comment
