Over on the gulf side, brown seaweed grew. And it hugged the shoreline like a thick blanket, stretching about 15 feet or more into the water. To get to clear swimming water you had to forge your way through it. Not a pain, unless grasping underwater feelings panic you!
The water was like bath water! Couldn't call it "refreshing", but since I'm used to the cold, gray pounding surf of the New Jersey coast, this was a "refreshing" difference!
On the bayside the seaweed was sparse and green. Look at next tip to see the gulf side of seaweed!
Mike found beautiful flowers every where on the island. Wonderful gardens and some growing wild. These are just some of them.
