Hans and I were both in the mood for a Chinese Buffet. Lo and Behold - SPLENDID BUFFET. And it was totally awesome. They offered a wonderful "All-you-can-eat", delicious Buffet consisting of steamed Crab Legs, giant prauns, peel-and-eat shrimp.sweet & Sour Chicken, Sushi, BBQ Spare Ribs and much much more. They even had a Mongolian BBQ section. Also a soup and salad bar and dessert & fruit selections. Needless to say, we enjoyed it very much and at $8.99 a real bargain. Lunch 11:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Mon - Sat. $5.99 Dinner 3:45 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Mon - Thurs. $8.99 Sunday Brunch 11:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. $6.99 Sunday Dinner 3:45 to 9:30 p.m. $9.99 10% discount for Seniors 65 plus Leave a Comment Theme: Chinese/Dim SumPrice: less than US$10 » Currency ConverterComparison: less expensive than averageAddress: 6010 14th Street West Bradenton Fl 34207Phone: (941) 739-8988Website: splendidbuffet@verizon.net

Crager's Family Diner by LoriPori Sarasota, January, 2007 OK what to eat tonight! CRAGER'S FAMILY DINER just down the street from our Motel had a sign outside which read Sirloin Steak $7.49. That sounded good, so that's what we did. Our steak was a small portion, but good and it came with choice of potato ( we both had baked ), vegetable and corn bread which was all more than enough. Our waitress was hilarious and had us in stitches. Crager's which is family owned and operated, had quite a good menu with your usual breakfast items, soup and sandwiches, salads, burgers, chicken, fish, steak and pasta dishes. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Leave a Comment Theme: DinerPrice: less than US$10 » Currency ConverterComparison: less expensive than averageAddress: 7218 N. People get happy around food. by sarahjayn Primo's is actual Italian food. If you are into mozzarella sticks and something called a "sampler", look elsewhere. Like everything they serve, they make their own pasta here (apparently from angel's wings or something because this stuff is good) and they have real pride in creating meals, not just serving food. The owner / head chef, Maurizio, is a very nice man who actually cares about your response when he walks by your table and asks, "So, how is everything?" There is some stereotypical "italianess" in the decor of the resturant - early American plastic fruit and pictures of "famous" Italians, complete with chubby angel frescos randomly on the walls, candles in "antique" sconces, white linen table cloths and full settings of crystal and silverware. I think that's all just part of the scene. Your Nana will think it's "beautiful." Despite its older-generation ambiance, Primo's isn't stuffy, though. They are actually one of the cheaper resturants on US 41 that doens't serve its food in a bag with paper napkins. They have a lunch special everyday that is incredibly cheap, too.
They make crazy good gnocchi and manicotti julian here. everything, even dead animal, is pretty here. by sarahjayn Bangkok Thai is the first place I ever went out to eat as a college student. I think that the orientation staff took us there because (as I would find out as a future orientation staffer) they were instructed to give us experiences that would make us want to stay at that particular college and reasons to want to live in Sarasota. The food / people here are amazing. Everyone is really dedicated and hardworking, and that comes out in the food they serve. Also, it’s not so expensive or overpriced that you have to feel like it is a totally irrational treat you are giving yourself to eat here. The carrot crane and radish rose on every plate just make me smile, too. It was voted best Thai something like eleven times in a row in the local paper, too. It's worth wandering off of US 41.
I really like their red curry with thai vegetables. It's not runny and overcooked like a lot of curry dishes. Strawberry . . . Shortcake . . Yum! by sarahjayn Sarasota is home to a pretty large Amish and Mennonite community. (Check out the documentary Devil's Playground to learn a little about Sarasota's Amish, They are only in it a little, but the documentary is awesome all in all.) This place serves up traditional Amish-style cooking and is staffed mostly by Mennonite women. There's also crafts, quilts, and cookbooks made by locals for sale. The quilts are the type of quality that you could pass them on for generations. I've always been kind of sad that I can't afford one. Oh, yeah, the food is pretty good, too.
During strawberry season, the strawberry shortcake is the best! Some of the best sandwiches in town. The best part is Anna's special sauce. It's like a mayo mustard mix but its the best. They will ask if you want it and just say yes. Its a hop skip and a jump from siesta and many of the beach accesses so its great to take to the beach or stopping after.
It's just a deli, has many sandwiches. I always get turkey on marble rye but they are all good. You probably wont see it but it is right before the Big Olaf icecream shop and in the same shopping center as the Bank of America. The strip is all brown, not hard to miss.

This is a great "down-to-earth" restaurant, considering that the ones that surround it are higher level dinner oriented affairs on St. Armands circle. It's a good thing the breakfasts are good, because it's practically the only game in town unless you want to go back to the mainland!
The pancakes! Lunch is very good too, the Rachel (turkey Reuben) is excellent. This restaurant is off the beaten track in Sarasota, but well worth the trip. Take a cab if you have to. The interior is painted in bright colors giving it a festive atmosphere. The food is great, too.
I can't remember what all we had, but I know that we tried a variety of items and all of it was excellent! Leave a Comment
