Carr's Corner Cafe: Diner for locals - hidden treasure!

2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

This is a small converted gas station that's run by a bunch of fun ladies. The menu is standard deli fare, but it's a guaranteed good meal with friendly service.

A GREAT lunch place if you want to get away from the tourist crowd during season.

If you go, check out the teapots and salt/pepper shakers. My mother donated some of them from her ample garage sale finds.

Favorite Dish: In honor of vegetarian tuesday, I had their "Bay Haven Burger" which was a very good regular deli burger. There is an excellent selection of sandwiches and the soups I'm told are always good. They'll do take out too.

Blue Dolphin Cafe: Best Breakfast In Town, Lunch Good Too!
vertov profile photo

3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

vertov 18 reviews

This is a great "down-to-earth" restaurant, considering that the ones that surround it are higher level dinner oriented affairs on St. Armands circle. It's a good thing the breakfasts are good, because it's practically the only game in town unless you want to go back to the mainland!

Favorite Dish: The pancakes! Lunch is very good too, the Rachel (turkey Reuben) is excellent.

This is Sarasota's classiest waterfront dining. Rumor has it that this restaurant is one of Emeril's favorite South Florida places to eat. It is definitely not to be missed if your are willing to part with your money!

Favorite Dish: Anything and Everything!

The Summerhouse: Romantic Tropical Ambience

The location of the Summerhouse on Siesta Key makes it a stones throw away from many of the rental condos and gulfside hotels. It has excellent food, and it was voted most Romantic restaurant a number of years in a row.

Favorite Dish: Any Seafood is delicious!

Sam Seltzer's Steakhouse: Sam Seltzer's Steakhouse

The restaurant has 1890's ambiance and is extremely comfortable and friendly. However it is always crowded and expect a wait. There is a nice covered deck where you can have a drink and listen to live entertainment.

Favorite Dish: This is a great steakhouse that serves quality food at extremely reasonable prices. I enjoy the 16 oz. Rib Eye steak for only $14.95.

My favorite restaurant is Johnny Leverock's. It is located in Bradenton Beach. This a wonderful 20 mile drive up Longboat Key from Sarasota. It is located on Tampa Bay and the sunsets from the restaurant are great. This is a clssier restaurant with great seafood, but at reasonable prices. I always go at least once when in Sarasota.
The restaurant is located at 12320 Manatee Avenue W.,Bradenton Beach.

Favorite Dish: I think that the fried shrimp are the greatest!!
