Capt. Curt's is supposed to be one of the outstanding seafood restuarants in the Siesta Key area. I feel it is an overpriced tourist trap. For $13 a plate we received 2 pieces of ALASKAN whitefish and 8 shrimp; of course there was a huge mound of fries and a scoop of slaw. When asked if bread came with the meal, the answer was NO.
The food was seasoned exceptionally well. We had cajun fish & shrimp. I just wish there had been a little more.

This is an Amish restaurant and the food served is typical American fare but with a home cooking style. Service is always promt and friendly and you get more than enough to eat without breaking the bank. Ideal place for families.
They have an extensive menu, plus a dish of the day plus a childrens menu.
We always leave this restaurant absolutely stuffed but only because everything is so good.
Favorite Dish: Where do I start?? The list of favourite dishes could go on and on but the meatloaf is great. Also chicken pie, roast dinners and any of the toasted sandwiches if you're not that hungry.
Desserts are out of this world - you must try either the Dutch Apple pie or American Apple pie - both delicious.

Casual family restaurant mostly serving seafood with rib and salads too. Chidrens menu available.
Seafood in this restaurant is fantastic - the crab salads are really something. Word of warning thought - the size of the servings is enormous unless you are starving! Service is fast and friendly.

This was one of the best Italian buffet's I have ever seen. They literally had everything, from steamed mussels to homemade meatballs to shrimp alfredo, homemade pizza and prime rib. We felt that we had stepped into Little Italy. This is a true gem. Don't go to Sarasota and miss this one!!
Favorite Dish: Because this is a buffet, I don't think I could possibly name just one favorite dish!!

When I was a resident of the Key, I lived about a block from Curts and boy did I miss this place when I left. They have a humble little restaurant in the front of the building, the decor combined with some picnic style seating gives this place an old school nautical feel. The bar in the back is a great place to unwind with some locals who are trying to catch the afternoon baseball games.
Favorite Dish: I love the Grouper in Paradise, the shark Bites, any of the Crab dishes, and they also have two versions of their own beer, one a Corona knocoff and the other a Killians knockoff, both are very good and on tap.

I've eaten here a few times, very good beach atmosphere with good appetizers and entrees. In the evening there's also live J. Buffett-style music to keep the night going, an all around good time.
Favorite Dish: I'm a Mahi-mahi addict it seems.

The absolute best resturant on Siesta Key is Captain Curt's. It is located on the south end of Siesta Key. The resturant has a seaside flar and great food. In the winter season the tables fill up fast. In the summer time you can have a meal around 6:00 p.m. with ease. The food is delicious and a favorite even among the locals.
The resturant has a back room with entertainment and also has a breakfast/lunch/dessert resturant next door. Entertainment is seven nights a week and includes local favorites such as 'Parrot Head' Murray.
Favorite Dish: Crab Legs: To die for! We have never had a bad bunch.
Calamari Bites: Great dipping sauce!
Fresh Fish: Awesome selection!
Raw Bar: Available and yummy!
Non-Seafood: Lots of selection!

If you enjoy seafood, spirits, and a casual atmosphere, make sure you try the Old Salty Dog seafood restaurant/pub located about a mile north from Siesta Key Beach on Beach Road.
Favorite Dish: My physician would be shamed, but my favorites are the fried clams, hush puppies, and beer-battered onion rings.

The ambience is what makes this coffeehouse, Their is a big moral painting of Jim Morrison which greets you as soon as you walk in. Very cool! Nice cozy couches and wireless internet.
